Scenic spot introduction:
Mianchi is the place where Qin and Zhao allied themselves during the Warring States Period. According to "Historical Records", in 279 BC, King Zhaoxiang of Qin asked King Huiwen of Zhao to meet for an alliance outside the Xihe River in Mianchi. The war between the two countries ceased, and soldiers from both sides buried weapons and alliance letters to form the alliance platform. The existing Huimeng Terrace was rebuilt by the Mianchi County People's Government in 1985 on the basis of the original ruins. The height from ground level to the top of the pavilion is 22 meters, of which the platform height is 14 meters. There are 52 steps on the east and west sides. The pavilion on the platform is 8 meters high and is a double-story antique building with octagonal eaves and spires. Historical allusion: "Historical Records: Biography of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru" records that during the reign of King Qin Zhaoxiang (282 BC - 280 BC), Qin sent troops to attack Zhao three times, but Zhao failed and refused to surrender. In order to conquer Zhao, Qin started political and diplomatic struggles again. In 279 BC, King Zhaoxiang of Qin sent someone to tell King Zhao Huiwen that in order to reconcile the two countries, the two sides could meet in Mianchi for an alliance. Accompanying King Zhao was Lin Xiangru, the senior official of the State of Zhao. When the King of Qin and the King of Zhao had a banquet, he forced the King of Zhao to play the harp and ordered the historian to record it in the history of Qin, which made the King of Zhao feel extremely embarrassed. At this time, Lin Xiangru righteously asked the King of Qin to strike the fou, and also ordered the historian of the State of Zhao to record the history of Zhao. Qin officials were dissatisfied and threatened Zhao to cut off 15 cities to celebrate King Qin's birthday. Lin Xiangru also forced Qin to cut off Xianyang, the capital, to celebrate King Zhao's birthday. With such tit-for-tat confrontation, until the end of the banquet, King Qin failed to gain any advantage, so he had to make peace with King Zhao. In order to show that they had ceased fighting and stopped the war, soldiers from both sides buried weapons with earth to show friendship, thus forming a high platform for the alliance.
