Scenic spot introduction:

The Jingxing Mining Area Mass Grave Memorial Hall is located in the Jingxing Mining Area in the west of Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province. It is a provincial-level patriotism education base. The Jingxing mining area is located at the transportation hub of Shanxi and Hebei. The history of coal mining in private kilns can be traced back to before the Northern Song Dynasty, and mining in modern times has a history of a hundred years. In the old society, Chinese and foreign capitalists in Jingxing Coal Mine forced miners to do heavy physical labor such as plowing coal, carrying baskets, and pulling buckets underground in extremely harsh conditions. At that time, accidents such as roof collapse, water penetration, and gas explosions often occurred underground. The endless suffering claimed the precious lives of many miners. Especially during the eight years when the Japanese invaders occupied the mining area, the Japanese invaders turned the mines into a "hell on earth" where they maimed workers, killed anti-Japanese comrades and innocent people. The remains of the killed anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians were concentrated and dumped in the wilderness, forming 6 mass graves in the Jingxing mining area. Among them, the Nandagou mass grave that had the largest number of dead miners was the one where the largest number of dead miners were dumped.

Attractions distribution:

The memorial hall uses gray as the main color, covering an area of 7,000 square meters, and the main building area is 1,475 square meters. The overall outline is a circle with a diameter of 47.4 meters, which means that the mining area was liberated in April 1947, which ended the painful history of the Jingxing Mining Area and brought an "end" to the tragedy of mass graves. The memorial hall adopts a coordinated design technique for the interior and exterior scenes, pursuing the unity of form and content. It uses a unique architectural language - arcs and slopes to construct the main building shape, soul slopes, soul walls, and bronze hand reliefs. It cleverly interprets the theme of the exhibition of the memorial hall and is an exquisite architectural masterpiece. Its exhibition area is 870 square meters, with 295 pictures and 185 objects on display. Its ossuary hall contains a large number of remains of compatriots who died. Among them, 23 are complete remains. The museum has a total of more than 600 exhibits. Most of them come from private collections and are now collected and kept in traditional ways.
