Tangshan Museum is a local comprehensive museum and a cultural activity center integrating cultural relic collection, protection, research, publicity and education. It is a public welfare cultural facility in Tangshan City and a provincial-level patriotism education base in Hebei Province. Located in the center of Tangshan, within the courtyard of Tangshan Workers' Cultural Palace. The Tangshan Museum was established in 1996 and was rebuilt from the south hall of the original Tangshan Exhibition Hall to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Tangshan’s earthquake resistance. In 2009, the Tangshan Museum was renovated and expanded and officially opened to the public on April 25, 2012. In the past few years, Tangshan Museum has successfully and solidly taken its initial steps, and has developed into one of the distinctive large-scale municipal museums in the province.

Tangshan Museum is located in the beautiful Phoenix Mountain Park, with a construction area of ​​more than 24,000 square meters, an exhibition hall area of ​​about 12,000 square meters, and an area of ​​73 acres. Founded in 1996, it was renovated from the South Hall of the original exhibition hall. After the reconstruction and expansion, the Tangshan Museum merged the south, north and west halls of the original Tangshan Exhibition Hall, and added two new halls at the same time, forming five single halls A, B, C, D and E. Three of the old buildings were built in 1968 and have distinctive characteristics of the times. They also experienced the 1976 Tangshan earthquake and are earthquake relics that are still in use today. In terms of use layout, Hall A displays the "Jidong Sanzhihua" display with Tangshan shadow puppets, Pingju opera, and Laoting drums as the main content; Hall B "Tangshan History" displays the beginning of human beings in Tangshan and the tens of thousands of years since the city was revitalized by coal. Development history; Hall C's "Collection of Artworks" displays donated works of calligraphy, painting, sculpture and other works received by Tangshan Museum; Hall D has an academic lecture hall, professional library and reference room, and a restaurant open to the public; Hall E is a temporary venue and also A dedicated youth practice hall has been set up.
