Gaoyou Wenyou Terrace is one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Qin Dynasty and one of the most famous cultural monuments in Gaoyou. Wenyou Terrace was originally Dongyue Temple (i.e. Taishan Temple). It was named after Su Shi passed Gaoyou and local sages Qin Guan (Qin Shaoyou), Sun Jue and Wang Gong gathered here to drink and write. Since then, this temple platform, which originally relied on the charm of Emperor Dongyue, has become unique. Celebrities and scholars from all dynasties have come on the stage one after another to have a look at the elegance and leave immortal poems and essays. Wenyoutai, the Zhenguo Temple Pagoda in the west of the city, and the Chalou and Pure Land Temple Pagodas in the east of the city correspond to each other from a distance, forming a set of simple and beautiful triangular three-dimensional outlines, which has become the most popular scenic spot in Gaoyou.

Wenyou Terrace is located on Wenyou Middle Road in the city center, covering an area of ​​37,000 square meters. In front of the scenic spot is the Hairpin Hall, in the west there is the Temple of the Four Ancient Sages dedicated to commemorating Qin Guan, Su Shi, Sun Jue, and Wang Gong. Behind the temple is the quiet and elegant Qin Guan Reading Desk, and further to the west are Yingcui Garden, Chongguang Pavilion, etc. classic architecture.
