Scenic spot introduction:

The former site of Wangjiayu, the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, is located in the eastern hilly area of Wuxiang County. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers and has deep canyons. It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was the seat of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters. Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Zuo Quan, Deng Xiaoping and other revolutionaries of the older generation lived and fought here for a long time, directing guerrilla wars and political struggles in various anti-Japanese base areas in North China. While the headquarters was in Wangjiayu, Commander-in-Chief Zhu and Deputy Commander-in-Chief Peng unswervingly implemented the party's principle of independence in the united front and carried out a "reasonable, beneficial and measured" struggle against the stubborn forces of the Kuomintang. Today, it has become a base for patriotism education, national defense education and traditional education, with an endless stream of people visiting every year.
