Wuyi Jingshe Travel Guide

Wuyishan City

Scenic spot introduction:

Wuyi Jingshe was the first academy founded by Zhu Xi himself. It was built in the 10th year of Chunxi of the Song Dynasty (1183). It is also known as Ziyang Academy, Wuyi Academy and Zhuwen Gong Temple. The existing Wuyi Jingshe was fully rebuilt in 2001. It is located on the east bank of Wuqu in Jiuqu River and at the southern foot of Yinping Peak. With Yinping Peak at its back, Wuqu Stream winds around in front of it on the right. Surrounded by towering peaks and ancient trees, the scenery is very beautiful. Wuyi Jingshe is the place where Zhu Xi wrote books and preached Taoism. It is also a successful private university where he completed the "Collected Commentary on the Four Books" and implemented complete educational practices using it as teaching materials. It occupies an important position in the history of Chinese education.
