Yamarik Mountain (Demon Mountain) Travel Guide
Urumqi
Scenic spot introduction:
Yamalik Mountain, also known as Demon Mountain, is located in the west of Urumqi city. It runs in a north-south direction, about 9 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide. Its main peak, Qingnian Peak, is 1,391 meters above sea level. It is a mountain formed by deep-sea lake sedimentation in the late Erdie Period. .Attractions distribution:
The outer circumference of Demon Mountain is about 16 kilometers, and the mountain surface covers an area of about 40 square kilometers. It is located on the southern edge of the Junggar Basin and belongs to a desert area. It has relatively short and humid seasons in spring and autumn, dry and hot summers, and long and cold winters. Folks in Urumqi once circulated the folk song "clouds cover the Demon Mountain, and the water on the ground floats boats". The soldiers and civilians of the Qing Dynasty who were stationed in the fields and built dams built eight buildings on the Spider Mountain at the end of the Demon Mountain in order to pray for the Demon Mountain to have clear rain and make people's wishes come true. The Lamiao Temple enshrines eight gods related to farming, including the God of Earth, God of Agriculture, God of Fields, and God of Insects, to pray for good fortune and blessings. Therefore, Demon Mountain is also known as Fushou Mountain and Lingying Mountain. Now, after years of afforestation, the Monster Mountain is now covered with green trees. "The three peaks are hidden in the green ring, and the twin towers have uneven shadows at night", which has become a scenic spot in Urumqi.Scenic spot qualifications:
