Scenic spot introduction:

Jishan Island in Yuhuan, Taizhou, Zhejiang is a small fishing village island, adjacent to Yangyu Island, Pishan Island, Dalu Island, Zhonglu Island, etc., all under the jurisdiction of Jishan Township. Due to its special geographical location, Jishan Island plays an important role in the liberation of Yuhuan coastal islands. There were no less than ten battles, big and small. On April 17, 1953, Yangyu Island was liberated, and it was once the headquarters of the 21st Army of the Field Army. In May 1954, the remaining Kuomintang forces entrenched on Pishan and other islands counterattacked the mainland and set up a battlefield on Yangyu. At that time, many young men in Jishan were captured by the Kuomintang to be young adults, so there were many overseas Chinese relatives in the township, and Taiwanese overseas Chinese often returned to their hometown to invest in building their homeland. In Yuhuan, and even in Zhejiang, Jishan Township can be regarded as a hometown of overseas Chinese. Jishan Fishing Port is located in the northeast of the island. The harbor area is nearly 60,000 square meters and it is rich in fishery resources. The islanders have always been fishing in the ocean. Fish and shrimp are mostly dried or pickled and sold to other places, and they are especially famous for their shrimps.
