Zunyi Conference Site Tourism Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

The venue of the Zunyi Conference is a two-story building with a brick and wood structure that combines Chinese and Western styles. It was originally the private residence of Bai Huizhang, commander of the Second Division of the 25th Army of the Kuomintang. In early January 1935, after the Red Army's Long March arrived in Zunyi, this was the headquarters of the Red Army headquarters. From January 15th to 17th, the famous Zunyi Meeting (i.e. the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee) was held in the small living room of the original homeowner upstairs in the main building.

The former site of the Zunyi Conference is located at No. 80 Hongqi Road (Atomic Yin Road) in the old town of Zunyi City. The building was built in the early 1930s. It was originally the private residence of Bai Huizhang, commander of the Second Division of the 25th Army of the Kuomintang. It has high walls and vertical doors. Towering and majestic, it was the most majestic building in Zunyi City at that time.
After the Red Army's Long March arrived in Zunyi in early January 1935, this building was used as the residence of the Red Army's General Headquarters and the First Bureau of the Headquarters. In addition to the Zunyi Conference Room, the General Staff Office of the Military Commission, and the Vice Chairman of the Military Commission, the upper floor Zhou Enlai's office and living room, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De and Kang Keqing's office and living room, Chief of General Staff Liu Bocheng's office and living room, Chief of Staff Ye Jianying's office and living room outside. Downstairs there is a war room, a confidential room, the residences of the Third Army Corps Commander Peng Dehuai and political commissar Yang Shangkun, the offices and residences of the First Bureau Directors Peng Xuefeng and Zhang Yunyi, as well as the residences of staff and security personnel.
