Introduction to Water Margin: "Water Margin", also known as "Water Margin of Loyalty and Righteousness", was written by Shi Naian in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, and is one of the four famous works in China. The whole book describes the story of the 108 heroes led by Song Jiang who revolted in Liangshanbo in the late Northern Song Dynasty, and how they accepted recruitment and fought in various places after gathering together. It is one of the most epic works in Chinese literature and one of the earliest chapter novels written in vernacular in Chinese history.
