Introduction to the Chief Envoy Si Yamen: The Chief Envoy Si Yamen of Taiwan was completed around 1889 at the current site of Zhongshan Hall. During the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1894, the governor Tang Jingsong built an additional defense bureau on the west side. It is an official-style building with seven bays and three entrances, and is arranged in a longitudinal "field" shape. The orientation is east to west and slightly north. The three-entry building space is composed of the horizontal "head door", "yimen" and "lobby" respectively. The head door and the yimen are connected by vertical rooms, and the yimen and the lobby are connected by corridors on the left and right sides. , both forming a closed courtyard.
