Kunming, being a guest at the home of an artistic young man丨Yangyang’s movie trip

In August last year, Yangyang embarked on his first movie trip.

I always feel that he is a child with a rich heart, and I am a mother whose thinking is too chaotic. I am too confused to pay attention to the hearts of others, including Yangyang. Besides, I have to be busy packing my luggage.

I packed all of his "nice" clothes, a big bag that took up half of my suitcase - and ended up using only two pieces.

Our destination was Tengchong. We set off a week in advance. We couldn’t stay in Guangzhou anymore. It was so hot that we almost passed out every day. Yangyang and I had nothing to do and just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

We went to Kunming first, then to Dali, and then to Tengchong.

On the direct train from Guangzhou to Kunming, Yangyang had a little secret in his heart, and sometimes he couldn't help but want others to know. For example, he would pretend to be calm and ask me: "Mom, give me the script, I want to read it!"

He frowned and watched carefully - the play was poorly performed from the beginning, and no one noticed the "little actor" in the middle berth.

I couldn't fall asleep amidst the clanging sound of progress. I barely slept a wink all night. In addition to the heat before departure, I found that I had a fever when I arrived in Kunming. What was terrible was that my throat was swollen to the point where there was only a crack left. It was very difficult to drink water and swallow. , let alone speak.

The climate in Kunming is very comfortable. When we walked out of the train station, even though the fever was getting worse and we were walking top-heavy on cotton, we felt that the hard days were finally over and we could enjoy our vacation!

I booked my accommodation in Kunming through Airbnb. After glancing at the few listings in Kunming, I immediately fell in love with Caroline's art space in Boathouse Village. Intuition is always the most reliable guide, and we spent three nights at Caroline's house and spent four wonderful days. Since then, Yangyang has had a sister who paints and plays the cello, and Kunming has become a beautiful destination for us. Yes, Yangyang loves Sister Xing’s house the most in Kunming. He can stay away from home all day and study. Like my sister, I paint and meditate.

I have used Kunming as a transit point countless times, from Kunming to Dali, to Lijiang, to Shangri-La, to Tengchong. This is the first time I have stayed for a few days specifically to take a good look at the city of Kunming.

The time was too short, and there were too few places to go. If we want to talk about the overall experience, traveling from Guangzhou to Kunming was like suddenly holding a popsicle in my mouth on a hot summer day.

People in Kunming are very nice. They think they are better than people in the surrounding cities or villages. This kind of frankness and confidence is quite cute. The driver will tell you in the car where the cross-bridge rice noodles are delicious and where they are worth visiting. Where are the pitfalls?

The sky in Kunming is very blue, otherwise we wouldn't be able to see the rainbow for two consecutive days. It doesn't get dark until after 8pm. Even when it gets dark, we can still clearly see the outline of the white clouds in the sky. The terrain in the city changes greatly. Cuihu is a depression and the roads around it all have steep slopes. Going from Cuihu Park to Yunnan University will feel like climbing.

The building in the picture above is Donglu Academy of Yunnan University. Compared with the more famous central axis main building, Zhigong Hall, etc., I prefer this minimalist building: its roof, its rectangle, and the surrounding colonnade. All make people happy.

After Cuihu and Yunnan University, I want to see Dianchi Lake and Xishan.

I saw more tourists in Dianchi Lake than in other places. Although it was raining, there were still tourists in twos and threes on the wooden plank road along the lake. There was a little guy in front of me and Yangyang who was yelling hoarsely with his face raised and his eyes closed: I want to go to the amusement park! you're lying! This is not an amusement park! Ah-ah-ah!

Yangyang looked at me and smiled like an adult. He was not much older and immediately felt intellectually superior. He was neither noisy nor fussy, but he didn't seem very happy either. The scenery of Dianchi Lake could not attract him. He wanted to go home - to sister Xiao Xing's home.
