Introduction to Panchi: Panchi is located in front of the Dacheng Hall in Dachengmen, in the shape of a half-moon, with a semicircle on the south bank and a flat north bank that can pass through the tide. A stone bridge runs through the middle, named Pan Bridge. The bridge is about 26.6 meters long, has nine spans, and is 3.6 meters wide. It consists of 16 stone pillars and seven load-bearing stone beams. It has a slight arch in the middle, and is paved with stone slabs and protected by railings. There are stone statues carved on the railings on both sides of the bridge, symbolizing the scene of peace. The seventy-two bridge planks are a metaphor for the seventy-two wise men of Confucius. For laymen, the 7th stone is broken into two parts, symbolizing Fan Chi, the traitor who was expelled from Confucius. The bridge was built in the Yuan Dynasty and has a dignified style.
