Introduction to the Bell and Drum Tower: The Bell and Drum Tower is located in the center of the ancient city, facing the four city gates in the east, west, south and north directions. The Bell and Drum Tower is a four-story wooden structure with three eaves on the top of the mountain, with a total height of 23.76 meters. The outside of the base layer is built with a green brick warehouse, and there is a green brick patterned wall on the edge of the platform. The ceiling of the base is paved with square wood and painted with Bagua diagrams. The inner wall is also made of square wood and green bricks. There is a small door on the right wall of the south arch. Once inside, you can climb the steps to reach the base platform. On the platform, there is a wooden structure colorful building with three floors of cornices and bucket arches, painted pillars and carved beams; there are large balconies at the four ends of the main ridge of the roof, with treasure bottles and iron halberds in the middle. The eaves are equipped with hooks to drip water. The eaves and roofs of each floor are all covered with green glazed tiles, and the beams, columns and beams under the eaves are all painted with colorful paintings. In the old days, copper bells were hung from the eaves of each floor, making a "ding-dong" sound in the wind, which was crisp and sweet. There is a large bell and a drum on the second floor, which are used to strike the time. The city gate is opened during the day and closed at night as a signal. The whole building is towering, majestic and shining. The Bell and Drum Tower was repaired three times in 1927, 1964 and 1981. It is now well preserved and is the only remaining traditional high-rise wooden structure with a long history in Xinjiang.
