Introduction to Chinese stone statues: The Indra Hall was built in 1785 during the reign of King Rama I. It is also known as the Amanda Audience Hall and is equivalent to the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City in my country. . There are also stone sculptures from China placed in the foyer. It is said that they were cargo ships that used to transport goods from China to Thailand for sale. Due to the long voyage and dangerous winds and waves, businessmen often bought some stone sculptures to calm the ship. Due to their exquisite workmanship, the Thai king at that time was influenced by traditional Chinese culture and also loved Chinese art, so he purchased many such stone statues and placed them in the Grand Palace. There are two beautifully carved thrones in the palace. The thrones have nine-fold umbrella covers that represent the highest authority. They are now only used when the king holds important ceremonies.
