Fangshan Zhangfang Ancient Battle Road Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

The Zhangfang Song-Liao ancient battle route is the only ancient military battle route discovered in Beijing. Zhangfang is an ancient town on the southwest border of Beijing. It is bordered by the Taihang Mountains to the north and the Juma River to the south. It has beautiful scenery, pleasant scenery, and simple folk customs. It also has many places of interest and historical sites, and has always been a place that Chinese and foreign tourists yearn for.

The ancient battle road was built during the Zhenzong era of the Northern Song Dynasty. During the confrontation between Song and Liao, due to the excellent military performance of the ancient battle road in both fighting and defense, the Liao army of the Youzhou generation was able to concentrate on holding on and was unable to go south. After preliminary detection, the ancient plank road is about 1,500 meters long, and more than 400 meters have been restored. It contains a military storage room, a weapons room, a command room and living facilities, which is of high value for the study of ancient military, politics, and architecture.
