Scenic spot introduction:

Huayan Temple in Datong is an older and more complete Liao and Jin temple complex that exists in my country. It was built in the seventh year of Chongxi reign of Liao Dynasty (1038). It was built and named according to the Huayan Sutra, a classic of Huayan Sect of Buddhism. It has a history of nearly a thousand years. The inner halls of Huayan Temple are majestic and majestic. The simple buildings and ancient trees and flowers complement each other, forming an antique and beautiful picture with a unique Zen feel.

Since the middle of Ming Dynasty, Huayan Temple has been divided into two temples, the upper and lower temples, each with a mountain gate and its own pattern. Nowadays, although the upper and lower temples are connected into one, they still have one main hall as the center and are connected by two gates. Among them, the main temple is the Main Hall, which is divided into front and rear courtyards, including the mountain gate, the Guo Hall, the Guanyin Pavilion, the Ksitigarbha Pavilion, the Langbi Chanting Hall, the Yunshui Hall, the guest room, the Zen Hall, the monk's residence, etc. The lower temple is centered on the Bojiaji Tibetan Hall built in the Liao Dynasty, which preserves statues of the Liao Dynasty, stone scripture buildings, pavilion-style scripture cabinets and Tiangong pavilions. On the east side of the second brick-carved gate of the lower temple, there are the Tianwang Hall, the north and south side halls and the mountain gate.
