How to get there:
Taiyuan-Qikou: Qikou is 230 kilometers away from Taiyuan City. Qikou Town has minibuses departing for Taiyuan at 5:30 every morning and returning from Taiyuan West Passenger Transport Station at 12:30. The whole journey takes about 6 hours, and the ticket price is 40 yuan/person.
Taiyuan-Lishi City-Qikou: Tourists can also choose to go to Lishi City first, get off at Lishi West Bus Station, and then transfer to a minibus or van to Qikou. Buses from Taiyuan to Lishi City are available throughout the day before 16:00 in the afternoon. They leave every half an hour and arrive in two and a half hours. The full fare is 51 yuan. There are multiple minibuses and noodle buses from Shixi Railway Station to Qikou every day. The whole journey takes about an hour and the fare is between 5 yuan and 8 yuan.
From Linxian to Qikou: Qikou is 50 kilometers away from Linxian County. There are many minibuses to and from the two places every day. The bus from Linxian to Qikou starts in the morning every day. There are buses available from 9:00 to 4:30 pm. The bus from Qikou back to Linxian County starts every hour at 5:30 in the morning.
Self-driving route: Self-driving tourists can start from Taiyuan Jinci Highway, take Taifen, Fenliu Expressway or 307 National Highway, and pass through Qingxu, Wenshui, Fenyang to Lishi , walk north from the intersection of Getashang Village in the western suburbs of Lishi City to the provincial highway in the direction of Sanjiao and Qikou (the total journey is 46 kilometers), along the Qiushui River, passing by the Jinyuan Coal Mine, and arriving at Qikou.
