The Qinshui Demonstration Ranch was a demonstration ranch built in the agricultural area of ​​northern China in 1980 when Li Xiannian, then Vice Premier of the State Council, negotiated with the New Zealand government during his visit to New Zealand. The factory is located in Yangjiahe Village, Zhengzhuang Town, Qinshui County, at the junction of Qinshui, Anze and Fushan counties in Shanxi Province. In May 1986, the contract between China and New Zealand expired and it was officially handed over to the Chinese side for operation. At present, the site covers a total area of ​​more than 30,000 acres, with a construction area of ​​4,348 square meters and fixed assets of 4.1 million yuan. There are 11,310 acres of improved pasture, more than 1,000 acres of feed production base, 125 kilometers of fences, and 43 people (pieces) of 12 types of agricultural and animal husbandry machinery. There are 32 employees in total. Among them: 2 are postgraduate students, 6 are college graduates, 4 have junior technical titles or above, and are employed year-round from the Ministry of Agriculture, Shanxi Agricultural University, Shanxi Provincial Animal Husbandry Bureau, Shanxi Provincial Animal Husbandry Research Institute, Jincheng Animal Husbandry Bureau and other units Sheep raising experts and professors serve as technical consultants.

Since its establishment, the Qinshui Demonstration Ranch has always focused on demonstrations of grass and sheep farming and the cultivation of fine breeds. There are already 6 world-famous sheep and goat breeds on site. Among them: Kaoli sheep with wool and meat, which was donated by former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Hu Yaobang during his visit to New Zealand; Charolais meat sheep, Angora goats, South African meat Boer goats and Inner Mongolia white cashmere goats. It is an excellent variety imported from home and abroad in accordance with the arrangements of the Ministry of Agriculture, Province and City. The South African meat sheep Lino sheep is an excellent breed introduced from Australia in July 2002 under the "948" project of the Ministry of Agriculture. At present, the total number of sheep on the farm has reached 2,800. Among them, there are 80 Corridas, 130 Charolais, 500 Angoras, 200 Boer goats, 60 cashmere goats, and 44 South African meat Merinos. A total of more than 14,000 commercial sheep were sold, increasing income by 1.2 million yuan. It has provided the society with more than 1,500 high-quality breeding sheep and improved local indigenous sheep about 2.25 million, generating an income of about 450 million yuan.
