Scenic spot introduction:

The Longshan Grottoes in Taiyuan are the largest existing group of Taoist grottoes in the Yuan Dynasty in my country. They were mainly excavated in the sixth year of Emperor Taizong of the Yuan Dynasty (1234) and were built under the leadership of Taoist Song Defang. Although the grottoes are not large in scale, they have exquisite carvings, sophisticated craftsmanship and a rich flavor of life. Since most of the grotto statues in my country are of Buddhist themes, the discovery of the Longshan Grottoes is the first of its kind in China. It provides valuable information for studying the development history of Taoism in China's Yuan Dynasty and the art of Taoist grottoes, which is of great significance.

Attractions distribution:

There are a total of 8 caves in Longshan Grottoes, namely Xuhuang niche, Sanqing niche, Woru niche, Xuanzhen niche, Three Masters niche, Qizhen niche and two Biandao niches. There are 66 Taoist stone statues in the grotto, 8 relief cloud dragons, double phoenix caisson, crane and many other stone sculptures, all of which are exquisite and solemn in shape and very spectacular.
