Persepolis introduction: Persepolis was the capital of the ancient Persian Empire, the Achaemenid Empire. It was built in 518 BC during the reign of Darius I. The emperor of the Persian Empire, who controlled many vassal states, was inspired by the capitals of Mesopota and built Persepolis into an architectural city with many huge palaces. The entire ancient city cleverly makes use of the terrain and builds momentum based on the mountains, perfectly integrating the natural geographical features and the essence of human art. It was later burned by Alexander the Great.
