Introduction to the old site of Chaoyang Nunnery: "Leting County Chronicle" records that "there is an ancient temple on Shijiu Tuo, named 'Chaoyang Nunnery'. It was built by Master Xianguang in the early years of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1573) and later became a Buddhist temple. The holy place is so famous that monks, believers and disciples from far and near come here to pay homage. "The architectural style of Chaoyang Nunnery cannot be verified. The eighth generation Sun Zhiyuan rebuilt two main halls in the 24th year of Qianlong (1759), with six corridors and one front. There are 5 halls and 6 back halls. "From this time to the Guangxu period, there were more than 120 people in Chaoyang Nunnery. Although there were temples in the past, there was no development. It has been ruined over time. There are two former sites on the island. There is a stone tablet under the big mulberry tree a few feet southeast of Chaoyin Temple. The other place is half a mile north of Chaoyin Temple. The ruins have disappeared, and only the broken stele is submerged in the grass.
