Introduction to Chenwang Temple: Chenwang Temple was rebuilt in 1983, with cornices and high murals. According to legend, it was built in memory of Chen Xiucai. Chen Xiucai was born in Jiangping Village at the end of the Sui Dynasty and the beginning of the Tang Dynasty. He was smart and studious since he was a child, and he was full of articles. Because he was born into a poor family, he went to Beijing three times to take the exam and failed, and his reputation fell into the sun. Then he gave up his fame and returned to his hometown to live in seclusion in Fushan. During the day, he ferries the villagers, and in his spare time, he plays the flute, sings and fishes. Because of his life of benefiting people and goods, and being willing to give charity, he was deeply loved by the villagers. He died without illness during the Wude period of Tang Dynasty (618-626). Legend has it that he accumulated good deeds and became an immortal. Later, he often appeared to protect the villagers. In order to commemorate his kindness, the villagers built a temple in Fushan to worship him and respected him as "King Chen Hou". The temple was called "King Chen Temple".
