Linfen Iron Buddha Temple (Dayun Temple) is an important place for Buddhist activities in Linfen City. It is named after an iron Buddha head about 6 meters high from the Tang Dynasty enshrined under the pagoda in the temple. The temple was built in the sixth year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,300 years. In the thirty-fourth year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was damaged by an earthquake. The current temple was rebuilt in the fifty-fourth year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty.
