Introduction to the Salawusu Site: The Salawusu Site is located in Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It stretches for more than 20 kilometers on both sides of the Salawusu River. There are nine locations and 400 stone artifacts have been unearthed. There are more than 20 human fossils. A child's incisor was first discovered in 1922 and was called the Hetao Man. A total of 45 species of vertebrate fossils including mammals and birds were also unearthed. The era is about 35,000 years ago. The rich stone artifacts and human fossils provide very precious information for studying the development of late Homo sapiens and their culture in China and East Asia. The continuous stratigraphic sections and abundant vertebrate fossils have become an important basis for restoring the human living environment at that time.
