Lezhi Longmen Baoguo Temple has a long history, surrounded by green mountains and facing mountains and rivers. Although it has been ups and downs several times, it is still a thousand-year-old ancient temple in Sichuan with strong incense, and is also known as the pure land in Sichuan.

Baoguo Temple has an elegant layout and has five halls, including the Tianwang Hall, the Main Hall, the Guanyin Hall, the Ksitigarbha Hall, and the Patriarch Hall. It mainly enshrines nearly 60 statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas such as Maitreya Buddha, the Four Heavenly Kings, Medicine Buddha, and Sakyamuni Buddha, as well as the statues of Patriarchs such as Simo, Benkong, and Liyu. It also has a large number of Burmese jade Buddha statues. Its size is second to none among domestic temples.

Four things you must do when visiting Lezhi Baoguo Temple:

1. Worship the Buddha. Start worshiping Buddha from the Tianwang Hall at the mountain gate, and go up to the Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, Peace Pagoda, Patriarch Hall, and the tomb of Master Liyu.

2. Recite Buddha’s name. It is best to follow the Buddhist chanting schedule of the lay practitioners of the Nianfo Garden and participate in the group practice of chanting the Buddha's name with at least one piece of incense. (The specific schedule can be found on the website)

3. Participate in morning classes for monks. Get up at 4:30 in the morning and attend a morning class given by the monks and nuns. (Content: Shurangama Mantra, chanting the Buddha, etc.)

4. Request a letter. In the Buddhist book circulation center, there are a large number of Pure Land sect prints; you can request them for free after arriving at the temple, so that you can study quietly and practice hard after you return. (The Buddhist Book Circulation Office is on duty from 8:00-11:00 am and 2:00-3:30 pm; for other special circumstances, please find the guest room.)

Bus route:

1. Chengdu Wuguiqiao Bus Station departs at 11:00 a.m. every day; Jinsha Bus Station departs at 7:50 a.m. every day; Wukuaishi Bus Station (near the North Railway Station) every afternoon The bus leaves at 2:30 and can go directly to Lezhi Baoguo Temple.

2. There are buses from the Chengdu North Railway Station Passenger Transport Center and Wuguiqiao Bus Terminal to Lezhi County North Station. There are shuttle buses from the North Station directly to Lezhi County Baoguo Temple, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Departures every half hour.
