Introduction to the chanting of old cypresses: There are two towering old cypresses in Qiyun Temple. The old trees and new branches are vigorous and straight. It is said that two old cypress trees were more than 1,400 years old and became immortals after listening to the sixth generation ancestor's sermons. Local people say that whenever it is quiet at night and the mountain wind blows, the cypress branches rustle with the wind, making a buzzing sound. The sound becomes stronger and weaker depending on the strength of the wind, just like human speech, so it is called Lao Bai chanting sutras.
