Introduction to the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument: The Revolutionary Martyrs Monument was built in 1997 and renovated in 2009. The monument is 25.19 meters high and is entirely made of white marble. On the front of the monument is the inscription written by Mao Zedong himself, "Sacrifices for the country will last forever", with eight gold-plated characters. On the back of the monument is the inscription written by the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Hebei Province for the Martyrs Cemetery. The white marble reliefs around the base of the lower part of the monument are "All People". All soldiers, the People's Liberation Army liberated Shijiazhuang, the Eighth Route Army's "Five Heroes of Langya Mountain" during the Anti-Japanese War, the great internationalist warriors Bethune and Kotnis. Each relief has a garland on both sides. The base platform is two-layered, and the fence is made of white marble.
