Ganzi Merdo Mountain, the holy mountain of the oldest Tibetan religion "Black Sect", is a mysterious, beautiful and dangerous holy mountain. Mount Merdo is regarded as one of the four sacred mountains in Tibetan areas. Tibetan monks feel that "going on a pilgrimage to Mount Merdo" is the fulfillment of their merits. This mountain is located in a Tibetan-Chinese area, so it itself is a symbol and testimony of the harmonious coexistence of the Tibetan and Han peoples. Mordo Mountain is located in Zhonglu Township, Danba County, with the main peak at an altitude of 5,000 meters. The scenic area is vast, and the most important landscapes include stalagmites, fairy cave, Luopupu, sea of clouds on the peak, and self-generated towers. 1. Every year, the tenth day of the seventh lunar month is the birthday of General Mordor. Believers from all over the world will gather at the Mordor Temple to pay homage to General Mordor and visit the sacred mountain of Mordor. This is an important local festival.
2. Direction of turning the prayer: Since Bon religion and Tibetan Buddhism coexist here, both clockwise and counterclockwise directions are acceptable.
3. Jiamaijia in Zhonglu Township is not only a tourist reception point, but also a good place to take pictures and watch the Mordor Mountain.
4. On the opposite side of the mountain is another tourist attraction → Jiaju Tibetan Village.
Tour route:
Danba County → Yuezha Township (more than 10 kilometers by car) to visit the Merduo Temple and Lingqin Temple → hike to the Nading Lawn and visit the Nading Temple → Sijiao Village → Luobupo → Yuezhagokou → Kowtouping → Pass → The summit of Mordo Mountain → Return to the pass by the original route → Dahaizi → Return to the pass by the original route → Kowtou Ping → Zisheng Pagoda (Black Sect) → Hiking along Chapu Valley to Chapu (First Pagoda) → Gangba Village (Second Road) Tower) → Mori Village → Sanjiazhai → Cross the bridge to the highway (Liuding Miaopu) and return to Danba County

How to get there:
Bus route: You can take a long-distance bus to Danba County and then take a van there, which costs about 5-10 yuan per person.
Self-driving route: Leave the Yingxiu/G213/G317 exit of Duwen Expressway and drive along S210 → S303.
