Introduction to Xinjiang Academy: Xinjiang Academy faces south and faces north. It was built in the 33rd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1694). In the fifty-first year of Kangxi's reign (1712), the prefect Zhou Haoyuan expanded the academy and renamed it Zhongling Lecture School. In the eighth year of Qianlong's reign, the prefect Chen Shizeng overhauled the Zhongling Academy and renamed it Ziyang Academy. In the forty-sixth year of Qianlong's reign, the prefect Kang Jiyuan once again expanded the academy on a large scale and renamed it Xinjiang Academy. It has been in use to this day and has a history of 315 years.
