Introduction to Shangyuan Temple: On the rock plate with cascading waterfalls, sits the famous Shangyuan Temple. This nunnery was built in the Goryeo Dynasty and was later destroyed. The current old temple was rebuilt in 1580. There is an old bodhi tree with tangled roots in the nunnery. There is a cake-making stone next to the tree, and a dragon-horned stone stands nearby to the east. The towers and pavilions of Shangyuan Nunnery are simple and elegant, and are in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural scenery.
