Introduction to Youmin Temple: Youmin Temple, formerly known as the Great Buddha Temple, is located in the center of Nanchang, on the north side of Bayi Park and on the east bank of East Lake. The temple was built during the Liang Tianjian period of the Southern Dynasty. It was originally a residence donated by Ge Yudan, the master of Wang Weizong of Yuzhang. Shi Daoyi, the eighth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, preached Buddhism here for 15 years. Because of his common surname, Ma, Youmin Temple was later regarded as the "Mazu Dojo".
