Introduction to Old Saint Mary's Cathedral: Old Saint Mary`s Cathedral is located at the corner of Grant Street and California Street. It is a red brick Roman Catholic church completed in 1854. Almost all of the church's original believers were Irish, and the warning on the church's bell tower, "Children, cherish your time and stay away from sin" still reminds visitors to stay away from brothels and opium dens.
