Introduction to Yang Linggong: Yang Linggong’s name was Yang Ye, also known as Yang Jiye. He was a famous general in the Northern Song Dynasty and was known as "Yang Invincible". History records that he had "strict military discipline and repeated military exploits". However, in 986, during the Northern Song Dynasty's Campaign against Liao Unfortunately, due to the wrong command of the coach Pan Mei and the supervisor Wang Qian, he was forced to fight alone. He was seriously injured and captured in Chenjiagu, and died on a hunger strike. He was about 60 years old. His deeds were widely praised at that time. Later, they were exaggerated in operas and novels, and gradually formed the story of "General Yang". However, after research, the main areas where Yang Linggong fought were in Yanmenguan and Datong areas in Shanxi today, not in the Gubeikou area. The reason why Linggong's temple was built in Gubeikou was mainly because the Liao people respected his loyalty and bravery and built a temple for him to encourage him. The soldiers dedicated themselves to the service like Yang Ye and showed loyalty to the country.
