Introduction to the Ancient Royal Road: The Ancient Royal Road is located on the east side of Yang Linggong Temple. It is a very narrow passage. Historically, it was the only way to travel between the north and the south. There are generally two routes for this royal road from the capital to Miyun: one is from Dongzhimen out of the capital to the northeast, passing through Sanjiadian, Niulanshan and Huairou in Shunyi County at that time to Miyun. This route was often taken during the Kangxi period; the second route was from the Old Summer Palace to the north via Tangshan, and then to the northeast via Nanshicao to Miyun Palace. Emperors Qian and Jia mainly took this route, and then started from Miyun via Luojiaqiao and Shicao. Xicheng, Yaoting, Nantianmen to Gubeikou.
