Forest introduction: The lowest altitude area of ​​the park is dominated by dwarf forests composed of pinyon pine, juniper, bearberry, serviceberry and antelope bitterbrush. Aspen/cottonwood, birch, and willow also grow in this area. Ponderosa pine forests, blue spruce and ponderosa cedar, bearberry, and scrubland cover the mid-elevation areas, which are well-watered areas. Douglas fir and Colorado fir (White Fir) and aspen and Engelmann spruce (Engelmann Spruce) form forests on the Ponsagunt Plateau. In this most demanding area there are also Limber Pine and Great Basin Bristlecone Pine.
