Skiing introduction: The peak season for skiing in Greenland is March and April. The capital Nuuk has a 1,100-meter (3,600-foot) ski lift and several kilometers of cross-country ski trails. The specially organized "Arctic Circle Ski Race" is the world's toughest cross-country skiing sport; the Apussuit Adventure Camp, located on a glacier outside Maniitsoq, is a good place to ski in the summer.
