Introduction to the Ancient Near East Museum: The culture of the Near East originated from what is now the Gulf region and the Arab region, including the Mesopotamia of Iraq, Turkey and other vast areas. It has a history of civilization of seven thousand years. Painted pottery has been unearthed here. The Ancient Near East Pavilion exhibits a giant sphinx with winged stone statue discovered in 865 BC, sacrificial objects from 7000 BC, clay pots from 4000 BC, handicrafts from 3500 BC, and artifacts from 2500 BC.
