During the epidemic, I stayed at home for nearly five months. I felt like I was getting bored and wanted to go out and relax. Xiamen happens to be very close to home, so I plan to go for a walk, see more scenery, and find different happiness.

Some scenic spots in Xiamen are free before June 30! !

The bus and subway BRT are also free on weekends and statutory holidays! !

healthy

Health code : Download the "Min Zhengtong" app, and receive the health code after authentication (check when leaving the high-speed rail) .

Mask : It is a must-have wherever you go. You cannot get on the bus or enter the scenic spot without a mask.

travel

High-speed rail : It is more convenient to get to Xiamen Station, which is close to the city center; Xiamen North Station is outside the island, and it takes more than an hour to take the subway to get to the city center.

Metro : Search "Xiamen Metro Electronic Card " on Alipay and bind it.

Bus : Search "Xiamen Bus Mobile Phone " on Alipay and bind it.

Later, I often traveled on Didi, because the scenic spots were concentrated, and Didi cost more than ten yuan, which was very convenient. Occasionally, taking the bus cost one yuan on weekdays.

When doing the guide, I saw many taxi drivers in Xiamen deceiving tourists, so I don’t recommend taxis.

stay

Choose B&Bs in the off-season and hotels in the peak season.

It is recommended to live near Zhongshan Road or Xiamen University , which is closer to the attractions.

| Visit Xiamen |

This trip to Xiamen did not go to many scenic spots. It was more like returning to a slow life.

Go out for shopping during the day, buy some delicious food in the evening, return to the B&B, watch variety shows, chat with friends, relieve the fatigue of the day, and plan the next day's itinerary.

(Sketches of attractions)

bay park

Just walk straight in and you will find the beach. There is no beach. You can play in the water when you go down the stairs, but you must pay attention to safety. The sunshine is very good and the photos are beautiful~

(Swipe to unlock more good weather)

There are two small hills on the left, which can make you feel very close to the sky, but it happened to rain when I went up...

In addition to the hillsides, there are also groves, playgrounds, and coastal walking trails where you can go for a walk.

cat street

There are no cats in Cat Street, it’s just a snack street. The four-fruit soup is delicious! (Introduced below) There are also several cultural and creative shops, but they are very expensive... It is not recommended to buy things here.

Shapowei

It is a small place with a strong literary and artistic atmosphere. It is also a popular spot for internet celebrities. There are many places where you can take photos. However, we went there at night and the light was not good, so we didn’t take many photos.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center are also near Shapowei and can be seen by looking up.

(Slide to unlock more night scenes)

There are also many cultural and creative parks here. My friends bought Lego, and I wandered at the earrings stall on the roadside. The boss was very enthusiastic and allowed us to try them on and change the accessories. They were all handmade jewelry. It was very nice. Exquisite.

Bell and Drum Ropeway

The entrance to the ropeway is next to the west gate of the Botanical Garden. Go to the ticket window to buy tickets directly with your ID card. You can also buy tickets in advance on Meituan or Ctrip. (Five dollars cheaper than buying on site)

Originally, there were one-way and full-journey tickets, but the one-way terminal was Nanputuo Temple, which was not open during the epidemic, so there were only full-journey tickets, with a 40-minute round trip.

The cable car has no glass and can seat up to two people (there are many couples) . I also saw one person sitting there, which was cool! When the wind is strong, the cable car will shake a little. The weather is nice, so be sure to wear sunscreen!

At the beginning, the cable car went up from the foot of the mountain. After crossing the top of the mountain, there was a sea. When you get on the cable car in the evening, you can see the afterglow of the setting sun shining on every corner of the city, and the sparkling halo reflected on the sea. The sight in front of you eliminates the fatigue of the day~

You can also see the Twin Towers, Shapowei, Gulangyu Island... Chatting with friends on the cable car, blowing the evening breeze high in the sky, it's super cool~

botanical garden

After eight o'clock in the morning, I washed my face, put on sunscreen, and then took my friends to go hiking...

There are many entrances to the botanical garden. The main entrance is the west gate. The other entrances are far away from the main scenic area. It is more convenient and faster to enter from the west gate. There are uphill roads all the way in the park. There were originally sightseeing buses, but they were suspended during the epidemic.

(Botanical Garden Map)

There are very few people in the botanical garden in the morning. On the way up, you will see many couples taking photos and wedding photos. Be sure to wear sunscreen when hiking! You can bring mosquito repellent if necessary, there are still quite a lot of mosquitoes.

The highlight of the Rainforest World Park is the spray. There are fixed spray times. Many people take fairy-like photos here, but! The spray service has been temporarily suspended during the epidemic. Be sure to watch the road when walking in the park, there will be a lot of caterpillars! ! everywhere.

There are many cacti in the Succulent Plant Park , which are great for taking pictures, and there are many types of succulent plants to watch.

Gulangyu Island

Gulangyu Island has three free scenic spots: Shuzhuang Garden, Sunlight Rock, and Haoyue Garden.

After getting off the boat, you can take a sightseeing bus around the island. If you buy a round-the-island ticket, you can go around the island once, and you can get on and off the boat once at Shuzhuang Garden. If you buy a one-way ticket, you can only go to the designated location.

If you want to take a sightseeing bus, you can buy tickets at the window as soon as you get off the boat. You cannot buy tickets midway. We thought it was a bit expensive, and we didn’t want to travel around the island, so we didn’t take the sightseeing bus.

(Sightseeing bus routes and fares)

Although we made reservations for all three scenic spots, due to time constraints, we only went to Haoyue Garden and Sunlight Rock.

Haoyue Garden is nestled between mountains and the sea. It is a sculpture park built to commemorate the national hero Zheng Chenggong. At the top is the statue of Zheng Chenggong, where many tourists go to take photos.

Sunlight Rock is the iconic attraction of Gulangyu Island and the highest peak of Gulangyu Island. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can see the whole view of Gulangyu Island. You can have a panoramic view of the red tiles and white walls, and you can also overlook the Twin Towers opposite.

After getting off the boat at Sanqiutian Pier, we took a short walk to the most beautiful corner, where Jay Chou checked in on a sunny day. Then we went to visit the reserved scenic spots. In the evening, we took advantage of the darkness and took a night cruise back to see the night view of the Lujiang River.

In fact, every road and corner on the island has its own characteristics. Only by calming down and strolling slowly can you truly feel its heritage.

Cycling around the island

I have always had an inexplicable love for cycling.

The Huandao Road in Xiamen is very suitable for cycling. There is a bicycle lane specially designed for cycling. It is close to the seaside. You can slowly cycle along the coast to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the coast.

We scanned the shared bicycles on the roadside and started riding from Shapowei. On the way, we passed Yanwu Bridge, Baicheng Beach and Music Square. The sea breeze was very cool, and the beach was full of bustling people, making it very lively.

|Explore food |

Selfishly, this is my favorite part, eating and drinking, I wish I had a 128g stomach! ! The food is divided by region, with Zhongshan Road being the most popular. There are also many delicious food in Bashi. We bought souvenirs there.

For all stores, you can search for the store name on Dianping and navigate to it~

Zhongshan Road

01

Dawang East Street Curry Specialty Store

Delicious Southeast Asian food, curry is the signature of the restaurant. The service in the store is excellent, and the waiter is also very thoughtful and polite.

Curry Butter Family Bucket is basically curry oden. Various meatballs are wrapped in butter curry. It tastes slightly spicy and tastes great!

Ceylon White Curry with Fish and Rice, the curry sauce is rich and milky, it is very suitable for rice. The fish meat is soft and tender without any bones, and the side dishes melt in your mouth. However, the portion may be a bit small for girls.

Hong Kong style frozen lemon tea , refreshing and relieving greasiness, with rich tea aroma. You can take it away if you don’t finish it. The bottle has a pull tab on it for easy portability. Highly recommended! (Follow the official account, registered members can buy it at half price)

The meaty currywurst is super satisfying, but it’s quite ordinary and the price is a bit high.

Love the Tang Dynasty

The store is a bit small, and its main business is sushi, with avocado being the highlight.

Avocado Green Dragon Roll: The signature among the signatures, it perfectly combines the very fresh and soft avocado with crab meat and rice. It is super delicious! !

Yuji Juan: My favorite! ! Minced chicken and fish are rolled up in rice, covered with a layer of cheese, and topped with crispy bread crumbs and fish roe. One bite is full of happiness~

Osmanthus and yellow croaker soup : A very thick soup made with Japanese tofu, fish slices, water chestnuts, mushrooms and egg drop. It has almost no fish bones and is very delicious with the fragrance of osmanthus.

Many people recommended West Toast, but we couldn’t eat it so we didn’t order it.

Evaporated milk Guiling paste : Guiling paste is slightly bitter but sweet. I heard it can reduce inflammation haha. It comes with a small pot of sugar water and a small bowl of evaporated milk. You can add it at your own discretion, which is pretty good~

cool house

It's a creative restaurant, and there are quite a lot of people eating there. It's a bit like an internet celebrity check-in shop, but the food inside is pretty good.

Pork Neck Roast Beef Platter: The roasted pork tastes better than the beef. The beef is a bit woody, so it’s great to dip the meat in chili powder! I like the layer of mashed potatoes under the meat, it's also very fragrant.

Grilled Chicken with Wild Fennel: Although there is only half a chicken, it is quite large. The chicken is very tasty, tender and juicy, and I think the side dishes are delicious! ! There are half roasted sweet potatoes and roasted potatoes in it, what a magical delicacy! !

Yixiashuang·Heizai Zhangzhou Four Fruit Soup

Uncle's service attitude is very good and he is also very good at chatting! Seeing that we were filming the four-fruit soup, he even specially added ingredients for us, saying that he would sacrifice a few dragon fruit and taro balls to make our photo look better~

Because there were no seats, we stood next to the store to eat (there was no one there at the time) . The uncle said that we could add more ice cream after we finished eating. He also showed us the Dianping snack list and said that their store has all the snacks. First place! Very funny, and really delicious, sour and sweet, very suitable for summer~

Laosi Sha Tea Noodles

When you come to Xiamen, you must eat sand tea noodles. The portion is very generous. The taste of sand tea is rich and slightly spicy. There is also another chili sauce on the table, which is very spicy and full of flavor! The noodles absorb the soup, and it's super satisfying to take a sip! You can also add seafood~

Ashin thick toast

The store is small and the decoration is very cute. I heard that the owner is a fan of Mayday. The store is filled with post-it notes from customers and pictures of Mayday. There is also a Q-version cartoon of Mayday at the entrance of the store.

If you like something sweet, you can order Thick Toast with Vanilla Ice Cream, and if you like something salty, you can order Thick Toast with Bacon Cheese. We ordered the savory one, the skin was crispy and the toast was very soft on the inside! It's fragrant and tender, and the cheese is generous, but it's a bit easy to get tired~

Ajizai Jiji Department Store

The souvenirs in this store are well packaged and suitable for giving as gifts. Of course, the prices are a bit higher, and they also sell some cakes.

02

Yilan

It is a time-honored cake shop with several branches in Xiamen. Their pies are all made that day and are freshly baked, perfect for souvenirs.

I bought Coconut Cake and Taro Cake. The crust is thin and filling, and the sweetness is moderate. The aunt said that because no preservatives are added, the shelf life is very short. The coconut cake only has a shelf life of 4 days, and the taro cake has a shelf life of 15 days.

Price:¥3/piece

The days in Xiamen were sunny and occasionally rainy. There were no crowded scenic spots, only us who were leisurely and comfortable.

Although I walked slowly, I still felt the charm of this city. Sunshine and happiness were also put into my pocket, and I returned home with a full load.

This is the end of Xiamen travel diary!
