Quanzhou, referred to as "Li", also known as "Licheng", "Citong City" and "Wenling", is located in the southeast of Fujian Province. Quanzhou has a long history. It was one of the four major ports in the world during the Tang Dynasty and the "largest port in the East" during the Song and Yuan Dynasties. It was hailed as the "City of Light" by Marco Polo. It is one of the first batch of historical and cultural cities by the State Council, a cultural capital of East Asia, and the only recognized city by the United Nations. It is the starting point of the "Maritime Silk Road" and has the famous "Eighteen Scenes of Quanzhou". UNESCO has located the world's first "World Multicultural Exhibition Center" in Quanzhou.
