It's April in the world, the spring is bright, and war is raging in the distance and the epidemic is rampant. It’s also a good idea to take this opportunity to walk around the county. After walking down to Zhuhu Lake the day before yesterday, we came to Jiuduling again today.

Jiudu Ridge is a pass on the Hangkang Ancient Road. Lingbei is Changchun Village, Wuyang Street, Deqing, and Lingnan is Anxi Village, Liangzhu Street, Yuhang District.

Navigation setting "Jiudongling" will take you to "Ten Miles of Changchun". The asphalt road is lined with flowers and trees. The farmhouses on the hillside are neat and beautiful.

There is a parking lot at the end of the road. Not far away, there is a signboard "Jiudu Ridge".

Following the arrow we walked onto the mountain trail. The mountain path is not wide, full of rocks, and there is nothing special about it. Outdoor enthusiast Riding Le Rongrong said that when he hiked Jiudu Ridge in the past few years, the ancient trail still had stone steps. The step stones are now scattered.

I looked up and saw that there was a mountain forest on the left side of the mountain road. There were bamboos, wild trees, tea bushes, and hairy bamboo shoots sprouting out like swords. On the right is a mountain stream. There are wild tea bushes beside the stream, and the branches are covered with new buds.

The mountain road rises like a zigzag. In fact, the pass is not far away. The pass was built into a city gate with stones, which is quite ancient. Entering the door, there is an open space of 200 square meters. There is a stone tablet erected in the open space, which is the introduction of Jiuduling. There is also a stone tablet engraved with "Hangzhou City Cultural Protection Unit". There is also a city gate on the south side. After exiting the city gate, it is the way down the mountain.

The altitude of Jiudu Ridge is not high. Looking at the altitude chart, it is only 167 meters.

Witnessing the scene in front of me, I imagined how Yue Fei fought against the Jin soldiers here, when Li Xiucheng's troops of the Taiping Army of the Qing Dynasty crossed Jiudu Ridge, and when the People's Liberation Army entered Hangzhou through this road. The soldiers and horses are roaring, what a spectacular scene it is.

In ancient times, Jiudu Ridge was a dangerous pass in the north of Hangzhou. "Republic of China Yuhangzhi" records that in the Tang Dynasty, military general Wen Sheng defeated Sun Shifeng and Zhang Jingchao's divisions at Jiudu Ridge. In the Song Dynasty, Yue Fei fought against the Jin here, fighting a tug-of-war with the Jin soldiers, and fought nine battles back and forth. Jiudu Ridge got its name from this.

During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the Qing Dynasty, Wang Youling, the governor of Zhejiang, once set up a fort in Jiudu Ridge, but it was destroyed by Li Xiucheng's troops. The Taiping Army attacked Hangzhou Wulin Gate from Jiuduling via Anxi and Liangzhu. To this day, local villagers still spread the rumor that "Long Hair climbed over Jiuduling and performed dramas in Zhangshen Temple; The killings are so noisy, don't believe it on the streets of Anxi. " ballad. Perhaps the people of Anxi were relatively numb back then. Shangbai was already killing people like crazy, but here there was still peace with singing and dancing. According to records, in places like Shangbai Wukang Sanqiao and other places, the locals were basically massacred by the Taiping Army. Later, immigrants from Wenzhou, Shaoxing and other places came one after another to settle the villages.

In 1949, the 23rd Army of the People's Liberation Army also crossed the Jiudu Ridge from Wukang and liberated Hangzhou from north to south. The Beijing-Hangzhou National Highway had been opened at that time. Why didn’t the People’s Liberation Army take the Matouguan National Highway? Unknown.

According to local villagers, Jiudu Ridge, as a pass in the north of Hangzhou, is not only a military fortress but also an important thoroughfare for the circulation of products and the entry and exit of merchants.

In Shangbai, I met my old friend Mr. Tao. His ancestors were immigrants from Shaoxing, with a history of more than 100 years. He once served as the party secretary of Changchun Village, and now lives at the foot of Jiudu Ridge. He said that mainly because the weather was good, he would walk Jiudu Ridge tomorrow night. Motorcyclists have come more and more in recent years, and the stone steps of the ancient trail have been seriously damaged, but they are expected to be repaired this year. He said that there used to be a lot of tourists hiking Jiudu Ridge in Hangzhou, but now that the epidemic is under control, they are rarely seen.
