My younger brother is a rail transit fan, especially a fan of trains. He has been addicted to it for a long time. His dream is to be a train driver when he grows up. We think it is a great thing that he can do something spontaneously and persist for a long time. The great thing is that every time we see the light in his eyes and his serious and focused look when he talks about rail transit, we feel that even a small child has the persistence and perseverance to work hard towards his dream.
So we all support him. For example, we buy books about rail transit, such as: "World High-Speed Train Illustrated Book", "Secret Trains", etc.; buy various rail transit toys, tracks, trains, etc.; take them there Watch the trains passing by, experience riding the maglev, the No. 15 driverless subway, etc.; visit the train model theme museum, science and technology museum, museum, etc.

Yesterday we took our two little ones to the Shanghai Railway Museum, which my brother has always loved!
Although the Shanghai Railway Museum is not big, for train fans, it is really something that cannot be missed!
The Shanghai Railway Museum is located at the intersection of Tianmu East Road and Kangle Road in Jing'an District. Its exhibition hall building and outdoor appearance are based on the original Shanghai-Nanjing Railway Shanghai Station (Old North Station) built in 1909 with British classical architectural style. Built on its original site.

Upon entering the gate, the outdoor square exhibition area creates a scene of an early railway station. What catches the eye is the black steam locomotive and the wooden platform, giving the whole place a sense of retro vicissitudes.

There are three locomotives on display outdoors, one larger locomotive, one medium locomotive, which should be a narrow-gauge train, and a very cute mini train model.

If you look far away from this small square, you can see the subway lines 3 and 4 running back and forth on the track not far away. My brother can watch it for a long time.

After entering the indoor exhibition area, start visiting from the left hand side.

The Shanghai Railway Museum uses historical materials and objects as its main carrier to display the history of Shanghai and East China Railways for more than 100 years since the railway entered China in the 1860s and 1970s, reflecting the development and changes of railway production. . The exhibition area is divided into four parts.

Part One: Railway Construction. It mainly shows the construction and development of infrastructure within the Shanghai Railway Bureau, including lines, bridges, etc., in the three periods from the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, and the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Part Two: Rail Transport. It mainly displays the equipment development status of major business departments other than lines, bridges, etc. and related railway expertise, allowing us to learn more about the mystery of the linkage of railways and trains.

Every hour on the hour, you can enter the simulated cab of the EMU and experience being the driver of the EMU.

Part Three: Railway World. It mainly shows the history of the organization, what happened to some celebrities on the Shanghai Railway, some honorary certificates, etc.

Part Four: Harmonious Railway Construction. It mainly displays the current high-speed trains, high-speed rail models, modernization of technical equipment, and the construction of modern railway stations.

In the development of China's railways, from the very beginning when it was impossible to build its own tracks and trains independently, to today's completely independent intellectual property rights and Chinese standards, China's high-speed trains have created two major commercial brands: "Fuxing" and "Harmony". There are 30 sub-models in 11 series, including CRH1, CRH2, CRH3, CRH5, CRH6, CRH380A, CRH380B, CRH380C, CRH380D, CR400AF, CR400BF, forming a high-speed EMU with a speed of 200-350km/h, various formation forms, and a complete range of sit-down cars. system.

As of the end of 2019, mainland China has more than 35,000 kilometers of high-speed railways and 3,500 high-speed trains, accounting for three-quarters of the world's total high-speed railway mileage and total number of high-speed trains. It carries more than 2 billion passengers annually. It is well-deserved The first country in the world for high-speed rail.

After visiting all the exhibition areas, my biggest feeling is that China today is no longer the China of the past!
