From Chongqing to Chengdu

Suddenly I remembered that there are some things in Chongqing that I want to record, and I plan to spend a little pen and ink to sort out this part of the memories, so as to make the few days in Chongqing a complete one.

I remember that the youth hostel I stayed in in Chongqing was called "Waiting for Someone". The name did have a bit of the tackiness of a romantic drama, and it seemed that you could meet the person you wanted to meet if you came here. This youth hostel was renovated from an apartment in a residential building. The apartment is not very big, with only a few bedrooms with bunk beds, a living room and bathroom. The total capacity is only a dozen people.

In fact, staying in a B&B is just to get back the wandering feeling of traveling before, and to make more friends on the road. But nowadays, things are different, so it is at most a way to save accommodation fees, and I probably do the same. I no longer have the patience and interest to take the initiative to communicate with strangers.

SUMMER

The air conditioner in the apartment can only be turned on at night. If you turn it on during the day, you will be charged extra. I don't think anyone who lives with me has any intention of turning on the air conditioner, so I don't want to take the initiative to do so. Sitting on the bed in the youth hostel, I kept thinking about why I wanted to take this trip. The part about traveling on a budget seemed to be just an imitation of my past life, which was particularly abrupt. I didn’t know if I was trying to escape the pressure of work or use the trip to nourish myself. I didn't find the answer to my increasingly depleted heart longing for freedom. I only knew that this didn't seem to be the feeling I wanted, as if a disharmonious rhythm had been forcibly inserted into my life.

In fact, Chongqing still has some backpacking culture, but most of my eyes are just on the seemingly fresh small handicrafts in the scenic spots, or the dazzling food, and I don’t have time to explore more deeply. Maybe it’s This superficial taste makes me feel a bit disharmonious.

When you come to Chongqing, Jiefangbei and Hongyadong are probably the places that many travel guides talk about. Since you have no ideas, why not just follow these guides? Maybe you can find some inspiration. Hongya Cave is within walking distance from where I live, so it would be foolish not to go and take a look.

The entire night market in Hongyadong is built on the mountain. It has nearly ten floors in total. Each floor has a long street. It is relatively quiet during the day. In the evening, the rhythm of the night market starts, and there are bursts of hot pot. the taste of. Most of the people who come here come here to worship their own five internal organs temples. Chongqing also made me deeply feel the five thousand years of China's foodie culture, which is so vividly expressed here.

I ordered a fruit yogurt with floating nitrogen. The colorful balls on the yogurt often stuck to my tongue because the temperature of the liquid nitrogen was too low, making me feel very uncomfortable. Wandering in this ocean of foodies, I have no purpose or direction. I find that when there are too many choices and I can't find the unique option that I particularly want, I lose the motivation to choose, so that I often make decisions. Always a little indecisive.

I had already run out of fruit, and I went shopping on several streets, but still couldn’t find a restaurant I particularly wanted to have dinner at, so I made do with an ordinary skewers stall and ordered a few skewers. You must be wondering why there are so many articles and not all, but take a closer look and see if the process of foraging for food in this night market is like you now, and these restaurants are like the major you chose in college and the job you chose after graduation. , the object of marriage choice, we are faced with numerous options in society, and we don’t know what to do. Most people will inevitably make hasty choices in the end.

After eating, I went to a bar near the river view and sat down. It is a high-rise building in Hongyadong and has a very wide view. In fact, I stopped because it was almost midnight and many shops were closing, but I still didn’t want to go back to the youth hostel. I hoped to find a quiet place to stop for a while, and by the way, I could appreciate the intoxication brought by Chongqing’s night scene. In addition to the river view in the bar, the grassroots singers who live here are often one of the reasons why people come here.

Chongqing night view

Most of these singers are about the same age as me, and they also sang popular hits when I was a student. I remember that at that time, if there were not a few songs by Jay Chou or JJ Lin in the MP3, other students would think that they were a bit out of date. I ordered a tiramisu and a cocktail and enjoyed the song "The Longest Movie" that the singer was playing and singing. This was one of Jay Chou's songs that Ms. Liu and I liked the most back then, and I unconsciously followed along. Humming: "Give me another two minutes, let me freeze the memories, don't melt the tears, your makeup is all gone, how can I remember..." Imagining that I am the person who is playing and singing, looking at the surroundings People come and go.

Before I knew it, an hour later, the singer also left. The number of guests in the open-air bar changed one after another, and the music in the bar was also switched to CD playback. I was a little lost in thought. I looked at my phone. At this time, It's almost 12 o'clock, and it seems like it's time to go back.

Back to "waiting for someone", at this time the boss was still scrolling through his mobile phone in the living room, and asked me symbolically: "Why are you playing outside so late?" I politely replied: "This is my first time in Chongqing. , I just walked around for a while. "The other residents were already asleep at this time, they must be tired from playing during the day, so I gently opened the door and put down my things. Before going to bed, I took a shower, sorted out my clothes, and prepared to leave the next day. That night I typed out the previous article "Memory of the Mountain City One" on the computer.

The next morning I packed my things and prepared to leave for Chengdu. Before I left, I went to the first roadside hot and sour noodle shop I had eaten in when I first came to Chongqing. I remember that I was very hot on the first day I came to Chongqing. Because I got off at the wrong station, I dragged a big suitcase and walked over in the scorching sun. The first place I stopped was this store. After that, I spent the next few days in Chongqing. , I come to this shop almost every day, I don’t know if it’s because I like the taste of the hot and sour noodles here or because I like the feeling of sitting on the roadside eating hot and sour noodles. So before leaving, I decided that I must come to this store again, which can be regarded as a farewell ceremony to Chongqing.

I actually decided to go to Chengdu because of a friend. When I was studying dreams before, I searched for the book "On Astral Projection" on the Internet. Maybe because this kind of mystical resources about astral projection are too scarce on the Internet, so in the end I couldn't. Don’t ask for help from the almighty Taobao. After searching for a long time, I finally found a store selling the electronic version of this book. During the process of buying the book, I chatted a lot with the store owner about dreams and mysticism.

The name of the store owner is Xianxian (pseudonym). Selling e-books on Taobao is just her side job. She usually uses Nordic runes and tarot to divine others, do remote energy healing, and peek into other people's Akashic records. , which reminded me of Pilar, the fortune teller in "One Hundred Years of Solitude". He originally wanted to just buy a book, but in the end he had a very good conversation and became good friends.

In fact, most people in this society think that this kind of unknown thing is very ridiculous, but with a bit of awe, they dare not blaspheme. As far as I am concerned, many years of travel experience have allowed me to see the world with an open mind. I think denying unknown things before exploring them is a foolish behavior in my opinion. Human arrogance will only make ourselves Stuck in the quagmire of ignorance, unable to extricate themselves. Our rational and "scientific" attitude makes us stagnant in the things we can know in front of us. We are confused by the appearance of materials and are unwilling to step out of the comfort zone that has been formed for a long time and embrace all uncertainties and unknowns.

Xianxian may be particularly interested in this aspect of things because of her own special experience. It has been a year and a half since we met Xianxian in August last year. From the beginning of our communication on occultism, I helped her later. Emotional counseling, there are also many stories that are difficult to explain in one sentence. In fact, Xianxian has read a lot of miscellaneous books on psychology, and she actually needed me to help her solve her emotional problems. I really felt that the plot was a little off track. It seemed that the fortune teller would not be able to figure out a solution to the emotional problem himself.

First of all, I live in the urban area of Chengdu. I am usually a homebody. I basically don’t sleep at night and sleep until noon during the day. In addition to helping others with divination and healing, what I usually do most is meditate, meditate and read books. I almost live a "fairy" life. like life. When they heard that I was coming to Chongqing, they asked me to come to Chengdu and invited me to dinner. Thinking about it, it really has the rhythm of meeting netizens. Xianxian’s invitation was a bit like a revelation to me, and a voice appeared in my heart: “Let’s go to Chengdu.
