2018-12 ChristmasIce Swimming Challenge

I have long known that cruise ships in the Arctic and Antarctic will have this bunker's Polar Plungetraditional project, and a certificate will be issued after the jump.

It was a cold and cloudy Christmas day in Antarctica. In the afternoon, there was a radio announcement asking those who dared to go polar diving on the third floor.

Oh my God!

The warriors swarmed into their swimsuits and bathrobes and rushed to the third floor. When I arrived, people were already queuing up in front of me. The cold wind was blowing in the equipment room. It was so cold that all the men and women shivered without doing anything. They took photos in the cool air, smiling and expressing their sincere feelings to each other, shaking their heads and cheering for those who came back from the dance.

We haven't seen the sea of ice yet, but my legs and feet are already so cold that I can barely feel anything.

Amazing skills

The most sincere love for Antarctica was astonishing. We only found out about it later at the farewell reception.

The coldest thing was not the icy water temperature, but the metal ladder under my feet with thin ice on it. When wearing a safety rope with your bare feet, it feels like you are stepping on ice.

Even if your heart is pierced by thousands of arrows, you still have to pretend to be calm and calm (applause here)

It's a pity that I couldn't see how others danced at that time and missed the opportunity to learn.

When I was debating whether to dance or not, or whether to be cold or not,

Who would have thought that what they worry about is —— which position looks good in the water, and the difference is big, big, big~~

Pity!

When the ice came out cold and wet, the crew handed us a big towel and a glass of vodka, and we were relieved.

All the photos above were not taken by me, and there is no copyright. Any infringement will be deleted.

2. Albatross over the Drake

There were seabirds following us every day during the trip, the most numerous of which were albatrosses. Especially on a clear day, the sight of them feeding in the waves of the cruise ship was unforgettable. During the boat trip, in addition to listening to lectures, the most common thing was to take pictures of big birds with the photography teachers at the stern of the boat.

Albatross is the collective name for 14 species of large seabirds. They behave very tamely on the shore. Therefore, many albatrosses are also commonly known as , " Dull Gull" or , " Stupid Bird" . Albatrosses are one of the most adept gliding birds. In windy climates, it can remain airborne for several hours without flapping its wings. Biological researchers have conducted very detailed observations and studies on the flight capabilities of albatross. It was found that some albatross flew a full circle around the earth in 60 days. No other bird in nature can surpass the albatrosses in their ability to fly.

The albatross's four-meter-long wings make it more suitable for flying over the sea than other birds. When an albatross flies over the sea, it only expends energy in the process of taking off. When it flies, it will use the sea breeze and water vapor on the ocean to rise and fly upward against the wind. After a stable flight, the albatross can even glide like this day and night for six days. Its rest can also be completed during flight. The brain structure of the albatross is relatively unique, and the left and right parts can be separated to rest independently.

3. Gathering and separation

The time has come to say goodbye to Antarctica. Shirley, a female expedition leader from Alaska, USA, hand-drawn a nautical chart, carefully marking the details of the voyage. Finally, the nautical chart was auctioned to a Shenzhen couple for US$2,000, with the proceeds from the auction Used to protect Antarctic organisms.

At the disembarkation reception, in a strong Christmas atmosphere, the captain reviewed our itinerary and watched the wonderful video of the entire journey made by the photographer on board, allowing us to browse the magical and beautiful Antarctica again:
