Just got back from Arctic Circle Alaska. I haven’t touched the public platform for two years. It took a lot of effort to log in today. I hope I can write more frequently in the future and record more of what I see and hear.
Alaska is a vast country and is the westernmost, northernmost and easternmost state in the United States, bordering the Arctic Ocean to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. It is the largest state in the United States, covering 1.7 million square kilometers, larger than Xinjiang and Tibet, and accounting for one-fifth of the total area of the United States. The population is more than 700,000, less than one-fifth of Haidian District. However, there are more than 130,000 bears that are still protected despite being domineering.
In 1867, the United States purchased Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million. In 1968, the Prudhoe Bay oil field was discovered on the coast of the Arctic Ocean in Alaska. The oil was transported to ports on the Pacific coast via the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System that ran from north to south of Alaska, and then boarded and shipped. Arrived in the continental United States. Oil has also made this bitter cold land unexpectedly rich.
Anchorage is the most important city in Alaska, accounting for 40% of the total population of the state. It is a hub of economy, transportation, and tourism. It is surrounded by mountains. The driver who came last time said that it rains here 300 days a year. It is far from the cityYou can see the vast snow-capped mountains, lush jungles, blue glaciers, and wild animals that appear from time to time in just ten minutes.
Alaska has half of the world's glaciers and most of the highest mountains in the United States. It has rare beautiful scenery and a variety of wild animals living there. In this great and lonely land, life is endless in the wilderness, mountains and rivers. The gorgeous aurora, the continuous snow-capped mountains and the pure glaciers are all fascinating. Americans say it is the last frontier (The Last Frontier) Some people also say that it is the last beautiful place in the world, with vast land and sparse population, free and wild, like the place where dreams begin. In my heart, this place deserves the title of "must visit several times in a lifetime".
The last time I went was in the summer of 2012, and this time it was winter.
