The world’s smallest town—Whittier,
This is the second time I have come to this town. Whittier used to be a military camp built by the US military during the Cold War . Now it is an important deep-water cruise port in Alaska in summer. It is surrounded by glaciers. I came to Alaska by cruise seven years ago. , it was here that we disembarked and visited the nearby famous College Sound of Prince William Sound. After seeing 26 glaciers, we headed to Anchorage. The town is 60 miles away from Anchorage, surrounded by mountains and mist. The average annual rainfall is an astonishing 5,000 mm, and the average annual snowfall is more than 600 mm. It is called the wettest place in the United States. Most of the time it rains or it rains heavily. During my two visits in 7 years, let’s put it this way, it never stopped raining.
The mini town is very small. There are only more than 200 residents in the entire town. There is only one independent building . Everyone lives in this building. The building has 14 floors. There is no shortage of city government, police station, post office, hospital, school, supermarket, and even indoor playground and hotel. You can get basic necessities, food, clothing, housing, transportation, life, old age, illness and death without leaving home. It is a favorite choice for homeboys and homegirls.
The tunnel is built with a spire to prevent avalanches that often occur.
The town is isolated from the world, and The only connection to the outside world is the 4-kilometer-long Anderson Tunnel, which is a simple one-way tunnel. Once all the cars or trains on one side are parked, the other side will be opened.
The quite famous Chena Hot Spring
Chena Hot Springs is a resort center 60 miles from Fairbanks. Hot springs, accommodation, meals, and an ice sculpture bar. When the weather is cold enough, soaking in an outdoor hot spring will make your whole body warm while your hair and beard will be covered with frost. You can say that you can remain calm even when the clouds are flying.
This guy and three of his buddies chatted with us very enthusiastically. After a few minutes of chatting, we couldn’t continue the conversation. He didn’t have enough vocabulary and couldn’t understand or speak clearly. I felt so ashamed~~~
As night falls, the sky is clear and the moon is bright. If you are a good person, the aurora often dances in the sky. On the cold winter night when the stars are shining, the water vapor is rising in the clouds and fog. You can see the soft and tender foreign girls soaking in the water when you look down, and you can see the gorgeous and twinkling aurora when you look up. This feeling of flushed face, flushed ears, hot body, and vision full of fantasy is very much like love. However, the conditions here are shabby, the locker room is narrow, and all services such as showers and clothing storage are terrible. There are no saunas, cuppings, foot massages, Thai massages, or health mahjong. Except for the hot spring Smecta, other services are not available. All require patience, and there is absolutely no aristocratic experience like my Dadongbei Bathing Center.
Top 10 most beautiful self-driving roads in the world - Alaska Highway 1
We have all been familiar with the Big Four since childhood, the Four Great Classics, the Four Great Inventions, the Four Young Masters of Beijing, the Four Little Dragons and Four Little Tigers, and the Four Beauties of Class 4 of Middle School. They are always the Top Ten here. Why?
Alaska Highway 1 is 1,422 miles (2,394 kilometers) long from Canada to Fairbanks. The 300-kilometer section from Anchorage to Glennellen is known as one of the top ten most beautiful self-driving roads in the world. The road winds forward. On the left there are stacked mountains, densely covered with snow-capped mountains, glaciers, forests, wetlands and lakes. On the right along the coast, the sea and snow-capped mountains alternate, and clouds roll in. Comfortable, like a dream.
If you drive by car, you will definitely take this highway, which is the only way to go south from Anchorage to Seward, Homer, Alyeska and other places. Viewing stations will be set up at regular intervals on the highway to facilitate passing vehicles to stop and take photos.
It takes about 3 hours to drive from Anchorage to Seward. Seward is a must-see destination for many people in Alaska. This port town is the entrance to Kenai Fjords National Park.
When we arrived at the beach in Seward (Seward), the endless rain mode began again, or the moderate rain mode, let alone mention it. Although it was cold and majestic, it was really not suitable for taking pictures.
a snow
Just have to do it
do me a little favor
I encountered a rollover accident at a snowmobile ski resort. I ran over with my teammates and everything was fine.
This long article probably won’t be read by anyone, so I’ll end it quickly.
Alaska has some of the most beautiful scenery that is rare in the world. The wildlife and natural scenery here are just like the rain in Alaska. They are in unlimited supply. I look forward to having better luck next time to explore more of the Northland dream.
