Western Sichuan mostly refers to Aba Prefecture, Garze Prefecture and other areas in Sichuan

Unique Bashu culture

Mysterious and simple Tibetan, Qiang and Yi customs

Hundreds of millions of years of geological movement

Created the magnificent and rugged scenery of Bashu

Still using the Air China Privilege Card

At first I only planned to go to Lijiang and back.

Sign up for two groups to go to Shangri-La and Lugu Lake respectively

But it’s an early flight from Beijing to Lijiang

Ideally, you can fly after get off work

You can join the group early the next morning

Finally decided to start from Chengdu

First to Daocheng and Aden, then to Shangri-La and finally disbanded in Chengdu.

But there are not many such routes

Generally, it departs from Chengdu and disbands in Chengdu.

Without further ado, let’s start with my travel experiences.

Day 0 Beijing-Chengdu

Booked a flight at 8:30 pm

Arrive in Chengdu near 12 o’clock

The airport has started to get busy

Online car-hailing is difficult to achieve

It was almost 1 o'clock when we arrived at Wuhou Temple.

The night in Chengdu at the end of April is 22 degrees Celsius

What a nice weather

Because we will meet at 5:45 the next day

So I booked an international youth hostel in Chengdu.

Dream Journey International Youth Hostel

Very typical YHA facilities are pretty good

There are still many people playing Werewolf in the lobby at this point.

Simply wash up and go to bed

Day 1 Chengdu-Honghaizi-Yala Pass-Qingrao Mountain-Bamei Town

Because I have already gone through 318 once during the summer vacation of 2017

So today’s itinerary is not unfamiliar to me

Got on the bus at 5:45 in the morning, thinking of starting early to avoid traffic jams

All the best out of town

Two traffic accidents occurred on the expressway in Ya'an.

I was stuck in traffic for two hours.

It was already noon when we arrived at the Tianquan service area.

As expected of May Day, it’s really lively

The service area is the most well-equipped I have ever seen.

Food prices are also very reasonable

Exit the expressway and reach the national highway

The scenery on the first day was not particularly stunning.

And the weather isn’t particularly good either.

Passed by several seas and mountain passes

The altitude is approaching 4,000 meters.

When passing through Kangding

Kangding love songs are singing in my mind

Kangding County builds houses around a fast-flowing river

Such a small county

Indeed, I won’t come a few times

It was already 5pm when we arrived at Moshi Park.

You need to come out of the scenic spot at six o'clock

I bought a ticket and planned to come back early the next morning.

Stay in Bamei Town at night

The hotel we stayed in today "Yijia Bamei Resort Hotel"

It’s the best condition in the whole trip

Except that there is no internet at all...it can be rated 9.5 points

At this time, the altitude is already 3500 meters.

The whole Bamei Town is not big.

There is a big white tower standing at the fork in the town.

Prayer flags printed with scriptures flutter in the wind

There is a prayer wheel not far away.

Not many choices for eating

I found a Sichuan restaurant "Qionglai Dipo Hotel"

The taste is okay but a bit salty

It’s not expensive if you order a set meal for four people.

Replenished some supplies in Bamei

Go back to sleep at night

Day 2 Bamei Town-Moshi Park-Tagong Grassland-Eighteen Bends of Tianlu-Jinzhu Town

Today is also a day to get up early

After breakfast, we arrived at Moshi Park Scenic Area at around 7 o'clock

There are already many tourists waiting outside the door

Ticket 60 + sightseeing car 20

Moshi Park is the only plateau stone forest in China

Influenced by neotectonic movements since the Quaternary

Forming the famous Xianshuihe fault zone

The rocks in the fault zone are squeezed and sheared

Fragmentation and miltification occurred to form structural mylonite.

Mylonite formed by fault activity was exposed on the surface due to the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau

These cemented and dispersed mylonites

Suffering from erosion by running water, shoveling by wind and snow, gravity collapse and other weathering effects

It formed a shape like a stone forest.

The 20 yuan sightseeing bus is right at the door and climbs the mountain road to the observation deck.

The next step is to climb with your own feet.

Walk along the plank road and overlook the entire Moshi Park

The silver-gray mountain looks particularly abrupt

It’s like arriving on a foreign planet

It makes people wonder what kind of miraculous craftsmanship nature is.

Scenic spots are mainly for taking photos and checking in

There are many handsome guys and beauties with concave shapes

I feel like it's not worth the trip.

Go around to another parking lot and take the shuttle bus back to the entrance.

Recommended play time is 2 hours

Leaving Moshi Park and coming to Tagong Grassland

Next to Tagong Grassland is Tagong Town

The town's temple is filled with smoke

People who pray around the temple walk clockwise

The golden-domed buildings shine in the sunshine on the plateau

I also passed by Eighteen Bends of Tianlu today

People who cannot walk on mountain roads should prepare motion sickness medicine

I really admire the master's driving skills as he makes all the twists and turns.

I don’t know how much effort it took to build this kind of mountain road.

Lunch was a package meal and I had a cod hot pot meal.

There are many thorns and they are not new.

Bibimbap with pickles inside

It is recommended to bring some dry food by yourself

After dinner, we are almost at Litang

Because Ding Zhen is famous everywhere

Ding Zhen was still riding a horse on the street on May Day

cleverly missed

Many tour groups have used Litang as a check-in point

Litang is actually not that big

If you take 318, you will generally not stop here.

The driver said that Kham’s men are very tough.

Leave National Highway 318 and drive for a few hours to reach Daocheng.

Tonight we will rest in Jinzhu Town, Daocheng County

Aden Scenic Area is still more than an hour away by car.

Jinzhu Town is also a unified Tibetan-style residential area.

The altitude is also 3500+

Check into "Tai Tian Hotel"

It should be considered the hotel with the worst conditions in the whole trip.

It's not dark yet

The Tibetan clothing experience given by the group is on this day

The tour group cooperated with a photography agency

There was no one to guide us at first, so we just walked around blindly.

Wearing women's clothing as men's clothing

The Tibetan clothes are really good-looking. A few strokes of sunburn makeup will make it look more like that.

But it’s raining

I just took a few pictures and had fun

3 photos were carefully edited. When I received the finished film, it looked like a studio painting.

Day 3 Jinzhu Town-Daocheng Yading-Riva Town

I didn't sleep well last night

Severe headache caused by high fever wakes me up every hour

Still get up early in the morning

It took more than an hour to drive to the scenic spot.

Scenic spot tickets + the required sightseeing car are 266 yuan

Divided into long-term and short-term routes

Generally, I choose to visit for one and a half to two days.

Although we arrived at the scenic spot at 8 o'clock

There's already a long queue at the door

It’s May Day indeed

It took an hour to get on the sightseeing bus

First, there is the 34km mountain road to Yading Village.

Yading Village is an accommodation point in the scenic spot

The altitude is 4060 meters

Some tourists choose to stay in Yading Village

It will be much more convenient to travel the next day

However, Yaden Village is high in altitude and has few supplies.

After careful consideration, I am still planning to live in the town at the foot of the scenic spot.

If you live in Yading Village

You need to get off the bus here first and put your luggage before taking the bus.

It is recommended to bring only necessary items

If you bring suitcases with you during the peak season, you may suffer a lot.

From Yading Village, drive another 6.4km to the end point Zha Guan Beng

I strongly recommend that you sit in the front row of the bus

And take motion sickness medicine in advance

VomitingI am full of meat and vegetables

laid the foundation for my painful day

After getting off the bus, walk 0.5km to Chonggu Temple.

At this time, you can choose to take a short route to Chonggu Temple and Pearl Sea.

Three kilometers round trip 2-3 hours

Or buy a battery car for 80 yuan round trip and take a long trip

Drive about 7km to Luorong Cattle Farm

We have arrived at the starting point of our long journey

There is a restaurant in Luorong Cattle Farm with about 100 seats.

In the distance of the alpine meadow is the Yangmaiyong Snow Mountain

In early May, the grass is still yellow and fluffy.

Walk along the boardwalk to the caravan ticket office

It takes 5km to walk from Luorong Niu Farm to Milk Sea

Then go 0.3km to Five Color Sea

The round trip is 10.6km not to mention

It also needs to be from an altitude of 4180 meters to 4700 meters

On the basis that no cableway is built in the scenic area

Horse riding is a good choice

One way 3km 300 yuan

With only 1Km left to climb, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain lakes.

Unfortunately, horses are in short supply

If you don’t go early, you won’t be able to buy a horse racing ticket.

Feeling sorry for the money, I decided to hike up.

It’s okay to walk slowly on a flat road

The problem is the difference in the climb

It’s a bit high-reflex

Plus the trek

It's really like taking one step and resting three steps

It is said that the Milk Sea and Five Color Sea will not be visited after 2 p.m.

So I can’t walk yet. is too slow.

In order to reduce the burden, I only brought a power bank, camera, oxygen bottle and raincoat

Even though I no longer have a backpack

My footwork and physical fitness are not as good as others.

Let me choose again and I will definitely recommend everyone to bring:

Water, trekking poles, oxygen bottle, chocolate

Wear a jacket, sneakers, sunglasses, and a hat as much as possible

Wear good sunscreen. The sun on the plateau should not be too harsh.

After climbing about 2.5km, I asked passers-by who were returning.

I got discouraged when I heard that it would take more than 2 hours to climb.

Plus I didn’t drink any water or eat anything.

My physical strength has reached its limit.

A bottle of oxygen has been exhausted.

I have a headache and feel heavy. I have to gasp every time I take a step.

I feel like I'll fall to the ground in the next second.

Given the choice between health and beautiful scenery, I still choose to keep the green hills.

There are still ups and downs on the way back.

Not drinking water all morning caused cracked lips

My upper lip feels unbearably dry even after I lick it.

I found a service station and bought a bottle of water to save me.

Xiao Zhong escaped and my companions continued to climb to the top

Then slowly and turn back to the entrance of the scenic spot

It took me 2 hours to recover.

My companions came out of the scenic spot at about 6 p.m.

There are almost no people left

Sunburn and exhaustion

The scenery is great, but the price paid is too high.

We all agree that we will never come to Daocheng Yading again in this life.

The five-color sea and the milk sea are no different from the mountain lakes I saw in Tibet and Xinjiang.

If you just put out all the photos of blue lakes

Everyone can only find differences but cannot tell them apart.

In short, Daocheng Yading is a place I have longed for for a long time.

The scenic spot that makes me want to cry without tears

It's not as beautiful as the shot of in "Passing Through Your World"

You still need to act within your ability when chasing scenes.

If you are a mountaineering enthusiast, you may wish to come here

Otherwise, I suggest you just take a short trip or watch the documentary to feast your eyes.

Don’t come all the way to western Sichuan to look for abuse

From the scenic spot to Shangri-La Town (Riva Town)

Let’s learn some science here

Shangri-La Town in Daocheng Yading Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture

Shangri-La City in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan

It was first mentioned here by a foreign traveler in the book "Lost Horizon"

Shangri-La City rushes to register Shangri-La

So people generally mention Shangri-La

Maybe you don’t even know whether you are talking about the Sichuan one or the Yunnan one.

Today’s accommodation conditions are not bad either.

"Ramada Daocheng Hotel" also provides oxygen inhalation services

Checked in for dinner and had the same hotpot from the variety show "Just a Boy"

"Rongli Xiangchuanxi Bazi Hotpot"

The taste is pretty average, so-so.

There are traces of repairs everywhere in Riva Town.

The building is very new. It seems that it was built to accommodate more tourists.

The conditions in the town are pretty good

It’s a good place to take a break and do some shopping.

Day 4 Riva Town-Pudacuo National Park-Dukezong Ancient City-Shangri-La

I was so tired last night that I had a rest which was very good

No headache when sleeping at an altitude of 2800 meters

It seems that 3500 meters is a threshold

After yesterday's torture

We unanimously decided not to visit the scenic spots for short-term visits.

(Tickets are available for second entry, but the sightseeing bus needs to be purchased again for 60/person)

Today’s itinerary will be very simple without going on a short trip

So I took a long nap before setting off.

This is a vacation

The past few days have been like running away.

The hotel's breakfast is very rich

Real-name praise

Most of the group will return to Chengdu on this day

We continue to drive south

The road condition is very bad

There are falling rocks all the way

If it weren’t for an experienced driver with 20 years of driving experience taking us

I'm afraid I don't even dare to sleep soundly in the car anymore

Because we have to cross provinces

So I had to undergo several inspections and registrations in between.

You are not allowed to bring fire sources into the forest area.

The vegetation on both sides is obviously much taller.

I heard they were planted one by one.

Thanks for the hard work of the predecessors

Arrive at Shangri-La City at 3pm

Then go to China's first forest park "Pudacuo"

The road conditions are not good either. The dust is flying

's is like riding a roller coaster

There are also Tibetan houses on both sides.

But the outside is covered with a glass room

It has a wooden structure inside, which is very distinctive.

For lunch, I ate instant hot and sour noodles outside the scenic area.

Meals on the road are never on time, causing the body's daily routine to be disrupted.

Scenic spot ticket 100 including 60 sightseeing ticket

This year's popular web drama "Si Teng" was filmed at this scenic spot

Si Teng’s resurrection place and the guardian’s hometown were both filmed here.

The altitude of the scenic spot is still above 3,000 meters.

The weather is unpredictable, so it is recommended to wear thicker clothes and check the weather forecast to see if you bring an umbrella.

The scenic spot originally had three parts

But since 2017, only one attraction has been opened "Shudu Lake"

It would be better to visit between June and September

Alpine flowers are also blooming

The grass and forests are also more luxuriant

It took about 20 minutes to drive to Shudu Lake.

You will pass by a Tibetan village in the middle

A small bungalow with a fenced yard

Living an idyllic life in paradise

To visit Shudu Lake, you can choose to walk on the 1-hour boardwalk or take a 15-minute boat ride.

There is no altitude difference, so walking is not strenuous.

In addition, you can walk through the virgin forest

Maybe you can find the same shooting location for me

But because there are too many similar truncated trees

In the end, I didn’t confirm where the real filming location was.

Overall, Shudu Lake is like a leisure park

It’s really not amazing enough for me to come here alone.

Not as approachable as Wuhan’s East Lake Park

I feel a little regretful and should go to Napa Sea to see it.

It's a pity that we couldn't make it due to the schedule.

Leave the scenic spot and return to the city

Stayed at "Sun Moon Star City Hotel" today

The accommodation conditions are also good and not far from the ancient city.

Taking a taxi to Dukezong Ancient Town only costs 8 yuan

The ancient city of Dukezong is known as the Moonlight Castle on the Stone

The overall feeling is more similar to Lijiang and Dali Ancient Town.

But there are fewer people, more niche, and more Tibetan atmosphere

Get off at Chandni Plaza

There will be performances during May Day

A stage was set up under Guishan Park

Early on, someone brought a small bench to watch the excitement.

I first went to the nearby Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Museum

The museum area is not big. The first floor is about the history of Diqing area and Chuxiong culture.

Opposite the museum is the Red Army Long March Museum

I just took pictures of the building and didn’t go inside.

The highlight is visiting Guishan Park

There are still hundreds of steps to climb up.

There is a monk offering incense to the Great Buddha Temple. After worshiping in a clockwise direction

Then go put incense on the stove outside the temple. There is no lower limit for merit money.

However, I saw that the temple has kept pace with the times. 's posted a payment code.

There is a sense of absurdity in technological development

On the right is the largest prayer wheel in the world

The entire prayer tube is five stories high

The barrel is made of pure gold-plated copper and is engraved with exquisite reliefs.

There are also scriptures hidden inside the tube

It takes several people to push at the same time to turn the prayer wheel.

Turn clockwise three times to eliminate misfortunes and pray for good luck.

From the viewing platform of the prayer wheel, you can overlook the whole city.

In the distance is the tower-like Shangri-La Theater

Tibetan houses are everywhere

Who would have thought that most of them were rebuilt after the fire in 2014?

Climb up the stairs along the gravel road

Both sides are lined with shops selling cultural and creative souvenirs.

Less lively and more peaceful than Lijiang Old Town

The special dish is Tibetan food

At first glance, the ratings are quite high.

Went to "Quiet Mani Shizang Meal" and ordered a set meal

There are Tibetan yak hot pot, grilled mushrooms, Tibetan pizza, etc.

Don't tell me, it's really delicious.

The yak meat is not too old. Cook it with clear soup and use some special dipping water.

A different flavor

Tibetan-style pizza is just meat pie, which is quite filling.

The yogurt is not too sour and feels like it has a lot of sugar added to it.

The grilled mushrooms seemed to be sprinkled with a layer of soybean flour, which is not acceptable.

Mixed vegetables like Sichuan kimchi, refreshing and appetizing

Day 5 Songzanlin Temple-Lijiang Old Town

I didn't have much schedule today, so I slept in too.

Arrive at Songzanlin Monastery at close to 9 o'clock, ticket price is 90

You need to take a sightseeing bus to enter the scenic spot

But I feel that there are many monks, private cars and buses in the scenic area.

Songzanlin Temple is built on the mountain and is known as the Little Potala Palace.

It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Yunnan and is also the Gelug Sect (Yellow Sect)

It was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, so it has nothing to do with Princess Wencheng.

The Fifth Dalai Lama proposed the construction of

Tickets include sightseeing bus and explanation

The guide told us that at the foot of the temple are the houses where monks live.

Their monks cannot return to secular life for the rest of their lives.

Not everyone can build a house at the foot of a mountain.

Visiting a private residence requires the owner’s permission

Otherwise it would be rude

There are 8 large ginseng trees scattered on both sides of the temple.

It is divided according to the monks’ place of origin or place of origin.

Divide the monks of the big temple into several groups for management

It's a little bit eccentric

The main entrance is a staircase with a vertical drop of 100 meters.

Keep left and visit the scenic spots in a clockwise direction without turning back.

In the middle is the Dharma Hall, where monks chant sutras on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar month.

On the far left is Tsongkhapa Hall

Dedicated to the founder of the Gelug Sect

On the far right is the Buddhist hall, which houses the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha.

There are exquisite thangka murals in the three main halls, which are solemn and solemn.

The buildings outside the palace are magnificent and well-proportioned.

Red-billed eagle circling on top of the temple

The sound of chanting sutras and burning incense surround the beams

There is a "Lamyangcuo Lake" outside the gate of the temple.

You can walk along the plank road directly opposite the temple.

This is the best place to take pictures of the panoramic view and reflection of Songzanlin Temple.

After leaving Songzanlin Temple, we embarked on the journey back to Lijiang.

Shangri-La is more than 200 kilometers away from Lijiang

You could have passed Tiger Leaping Gorge on the way

But I didn’t go because of the dry season.

It is recommended to come during the summer rainy season

Enjoy the majestic Tiger Leaping Gorge

Arrive at Lijiang Old Town at 3pm

The tour group will receive one night's accommodation "Niu Family Courtyard"

Accommodations in Lijiang are basically inns.

And most of them are contracted by bosses from the Northeast.

Every yard is well organized

Succulents, bougainvillea, and daisies are blooming.

There is a saying that Lijiang is the real Shangri-La

If you have too much luggage

It is recommended not to stay in the ancient city

Otherwise, the steps and flagstones will torture you and make you lose your temper.

From Dayan Flower Alley, you can go to the Eye of Lijiang and overlook the entire ancient city of Lijiang.

However, the density of buildings in Lijiang Old Town is beyond imagination.

Only the densely packed eaves can be seen

The ancient town of Lijiang is very large and winding.

Despite visiting here for the second time

Still can’t remember the way back and forth

After several rounds of tourism rectification,

Lijiang seems to have fallen into a kind of orderly

The ancient city no longer charges fees

After checking out the special delicacies, they include cured pork ribs, rice noodles, mushroom soup, etc.

If you need to buy some specialties

Recommended yak meat, flower cakes and Pu'er tea

Lijiang changes at night

The streets, which were slightly cold during the day, were suddenly filled with people.

The bar street is also starting to get noisy

Various resident singers began to use their special skills to attract customers.

After visiting the attractions, you might as well find a bar and listen to music

Even if you can't go to the Strawberry Music Festival

You can also have a great time in Lijiang

It’s probably after 12 o’clock that the whole of Lijiang falls into silence.

Photography agencies renting Tibetan, Dai, and Han clothing began to set out

Take your guests through the streets and take photos of the most beautiful memories

The story about western Sichuan comes to an end

There must be a climax in life

Look at the great rivers and mountains in the west

A day trip through the beautiful scenery of glaciers, plateaus, meadows, lakes and forests
