Packed up and checked out on the morning of August 4th. Belgrade is really small. I dragged my suitcase and walked for about half an hour before arriving at the station.

The ticket hall was too noisy. The conductor chattered to me behind the glass without being able to hear me clearly. Then he circled two numbers on the ticket. I guess one is the platform number and the other is the seat number. So the all-powerful Google Photo Translator came on the scene, and you no longer have to worry about going to the wrong platform (?)

The little brother who checked the tickets saw that I was Chinese and said a funny Chinese sentence: "Across the road!"

You have to pay extra to carry your luggage. The driver will put a pink strip on the luggage and give you an identical one. After riding for about two hours, the scenery outside the window was very beautiful. I really like the European countryside.

It was noon when we arrived in Novi Sad, and we were sweating profusely due to the scorching sun. We had to drag our heavy suitcases to find accommodation. The streets in Novi Sad are very narrow, there are no high-rise buildings, the colors of the houses are brighter than in Belgrade, and the air does not have the smell of smoke in Bel, but the smell of sunshine.

After walking for about half an hour, I found the B&B. The landlord was waiting for me at the door. This is also a single-family cabin on the first floor. It is very spacious and beautiful, but the door is a bit difficult to lock (I thought it was locked several times at first, but it was not! It scared me to death).

In the afternoon, we started exploring Novi Sad city. The streets are so beautiful! Like a painting! The city center is a group of churches and a lively pedestrian street, full of outdoor cafes, parasols and deck chairs. People wear sunglasses and shorts and lie down comfortably.

I basically walked around the city and then went to a restaurant with a relatively high rating. There are really many Chinese tourists in Serbia, and even the restaurant menus have Chinese versions. I ordered a vegetable risotto and orange juice (orange juice is really sour), and stayed in bed reading videos and novels at night. BTW, at night (early morning in China), I had a double-yellow SSR with my Chinese Valentine’s Day card, which was super happy (…)

The next day we went to a nearby fortress whose name I forgot, and passed a bridge across the Danube River. The scenery on the bridge was excellent.

From the fortress you can overlook the entire city. At noon, we had dinner at the restaurant in the castle. I had bacon rolls + tomato soup. The bacon was a bit greasy. The tomato soup was sour but delicious! In the afternoon I discovered a treasure ice cream shop on Pedestrian Street. There are dozens of flavors, the honeydew flavor is amazing!

I like Novi Sad so much. It’s the kind of city where if you live there for a long time, your whole body will become kind, gentle and full of sunshine.

On the third day, I packed up and took the bus back to Belgrade. On the bus, an uncle who seemed to be a salesperson gave me a pen with the words “I can’t hear! The purchase would help my financial situation” written on it. So I spent 100 dinars to buy a pen, just to save my character!

It was noon when we arrived in Belgrade, and the next B&B was not available yet, so we found a Golden Arch next to the station to sit around. The burgers at the Golden Arches are great! good! eat! It’s just a bit expensive (whisper)

The third B&B is also in the city center. It is on the 6th floor. It has an elevator. The house is also very beautiful, but the elevator is small and gloomy. The space is already packed with my suitcases. I went for a walk on the street to eat, bought a bunch of drinks and snacks, and went back to the house early.

The few days in Novi Sad were lazy and dull, but very happy! Every day I am awakened by the sunshine that shines into the house. When I step outside, I see the blue sky and the church, and I feel like I am isolated from the world. At that time, I had never felt freedom in my life. It was a freedom that was completely separated by a hemisphere and no one could find me.

The next few days will be quite dramatic, so I’ll talk more slowly next time!
