NO.1The remains of Mrs. Xin Zhui

The museum is divided into five floors. The lower three floors are where cultural relics are collected, and the upper two floors are the commercial area. Mrs. Xin Zhui's body and her coffin are stored on the first floor.

Since the remains were poorly preserved and severely decayed after being unearthed, the restoration pictures were

The body of Mrs. Xin Zhui was unearthed from the coffin in Tomb No. 1. When unearthed, she was 154 centimeters tall and weighed 34 kilograms. Although it has been sleeping underground for more than 2,100 years, 's appearance is completely preserved, its whole body is moist, its soft tissue under the skin is soft and elastic, its joints are still movable, its eyelashes and nose hairs are still there, its left eardrum is intact, and its fingers and toes have clear lines.

The autopsy revealed that The internal organs were well preserved, the collagen fibers were similar to those just after death, the vagus nerves in the lungs were as thin as hair, and the blood vessels were wrapped with coagulated blood clots, and the blood type was type A. According to pathological examination, Xin Zhui suffered from multiple diseases, such as coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and multiple cholelithiasis. Whipworm eggs, pinworm eggs, and schistosoma eggs were found in her rectum and liver. There were 138 semi-sweet melon seeds in her esophagus and stomach, indicating that she died in the melon season. According to pathological inference, she may have died of coronary heart disease caused by biliary colic. She died at the age of 50.

NO.2Cultural relics in the collection

The museum has a collection of more than 180,000 cultural relics excavated from all over Hunan. Excluding the much-anticipated Lady Xin Zhui, the well-deserved treasure of the museum belongs to the Siyang Fangzun.

However, the original has long been moved to the Chinese Museum, and the Hunan Provincial Museum only has a copy.

Without the Siyang Fangzun, it was Shang Dahe Fangding's turn to take the top spot. (We are still accustomed to calling it the human face pattern tripod) It is currently the only bronze tripod in China decorated with human face patterns. It is an important material for studying ancient ideology, sacrificial customs, and aesthetic consciousness. However, the human face pattern tripod is very small, with a height of 38.5 centimeters, a mouth length of 29.8 centimeters, a width of 23.7 centimeters, and a weight of only 12.85 kilograms, which is far less "strong" than the Siyang Fangzun.

The above-mentioned collections are the most well-known. There are also many cultural relics in the museum that reflect the lives and customs of Hunan people at that time.

The excavation of these funerary objects provides a wealth of information for studying the living customs of the Han Dynasty people. The costumes, makeup, and props of the TV series "Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty" refer to the funerary objects from the Mawangdui Han Tomb.

The upper left corner is "Boju", which was a popular game during the Western Han Dynasty. It is somewhat similar to our board games, but the gameplay has been lost.

It is said that the discovery of the Mawangdui Han Tomb caused a major earthquake in Japanese academic circles. The then Japanese Prime Minister asked Premier Zhou to get some of Mrs. Xin Zhui's hair, but the Prime Minister refused. The whole story is fascinating. However, Mrs. Xin Zhui is at least not a native of Changsha. She is more likely to be from the Central Plains. Friends who are interested can do their own research.
