I heard that winter is the best season to hike Gaoligong Mountain, because drought locusts are less rampant in winter; I heard that the cherry blossoms in Wuliang Mountain in Dali bloom in mid-December. I heard it is better to see it than to see it.

The Hengduan Mountains are not only in western Sichuan, not only in Tibetan areas, but the eastern section of the Hengduan Mountains has unique scenery. In December 2016, I chose the edge of Yunnan for my New Year’s Eve trip.

By the way, "In Gaoligong Zai" is the work of Tang Shijie, a writer from Yichang.

There are N routes from Jingzhou to Yunnan. This time I chose the route from Chongqing to Guizhou. The first stop is Zhuoshui Ancient Town in Qianjiang, Chongqing. There are many delicious foods in Chongqing. The most famous one in Qianjiang is chicken offal. We asked the locals about a restaurant where a small stove that can only hold a piece of coal is served directly on the table. The flavor is very different from the chicken offal hot pot eaten in urban areas of Chongqing. Chongqing food seems to be just like that. Didn't disappoint.

In Zunyi, Baoyu's classmates treated us to a delicious meal. We didn't make any further stops and went directly to the next destination: Qingyan, Guizhou, which is clean and beautiful. People live and work in peace and contentment and have many religious choices. There are archways conferred by the emperor and self-built temples of wealth among the people. , Buddhist temples, Catholicism, and Christianity are rare.

We arrived in Kunming smoothly. This time we chose Chenggong New District, which is far away from the city. Our goal was the flower market in Dounan and the seagulls at Haigeng Dam. The sky in Kunming is very blue, transparent and bright, the ultraviolet light is strong, and the plants grow luxuriantly. In the morning, I went to Dounan Flower Trading Market. The flower auctions are all in the evening. In the morning, there were only a few workers packaging various flowers by hand. In the afternoon, I was silly feeding seagulls at the Dianchi Dam. I saw red-billed gulls flying from Siberia to spend the winter all over the dam. They were not afraid of people and would eat directly from people's hands. They looked quite cute.

Along the Southeast Asia International Highway that leads directly to Bangkok, even if we stop to play thoroughly in the Wild Elephant Valley, we will not delay our goal of reaching Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna, before dark. Under the exotic atmosphere, there are many tourists. The hustle and bustle of the night market cannot attract us, so our goal is near Jinghong: the largest botanical garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Asia in Menglun Town.

Dead leaf butterfly, thank God for creating all things and protecting all living beings

After wandering around the Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for a long time, I had never seen most of the plants, but the one that impressed me the most was the dead leaf butterfly that resembles a leaf. In the afternoon, we decided to set off to Mengla near the border, because there is a rare tropical rainforest in China - Wangtianshu. Mengla County is clean, quiet, fashionable and generous, and pedestrians seem to be walking on the streets with smiles. Nanla River passes through the city, and there is water in it.

Wandering on Mengla Street at night, my eyes suddenly lit up and I found a very fashionable book cafe. I walked in and chatted with the clerk. It turned out to be a state-owned Xinhua Bookstore. The clerk modestly said that he was still learning and exploring. He loved his work and worked hard. Work with dedication and pride.

"Cut some time in Mengla and stop and linger in the spring." After just one night's rest in Mengla, I seemed to have fallen in love with this small town.

The Wangtianshu Scenic Area near Mengla City is the only tropical rainforest in China, pristine and pure. Nanla River is known as the "Amazon of the East". The aerial corridor is built on the canopy of 80 meters above the ground. After carefully walking through the corridor hanging high in the virgin forest, you will be afraid and marvel at the magic of nature. A towering tree, It's a fortress in the air.

Back in Jinghong, Baoyu’s classmates from Xishuangbanna (Baoyu’s classmates are all over the world, and one of Baoyu’s classmates in Zunyi treated us to a feast) treated us to a treat. Eat a full banquet of Dai food in Man'ao Village. Dai food is characterized by mainly organic dishes. Many dishes are cooked in the original cooking style. If you need a different flavor, you can freely choose various dipping sauces for seasoning. The quantity was too large, and the owner was so enthusiastic that I couldn't eat it at all. Half of the food was packed away. According to the owner's introduction, the Dai people are divided into dry Dai, water Dai and Huayao Dai, all of which have representative villages that maintain traditional habits.

At the breakfast shop in Jinghong, the proprietress was very down-to-earth. She kept reminding us that we could add more noodles and flour for free, and kept worrying that we were not full.

Drive from Jinghong to the China-Myanmar border in Daluo Town. At first I heard that there was a war going on, but after I confirmed that the fighting was not happening at Daluo Port, I emboldened myself to leave the country for a while. Here I have to mention Baoyu’s classmates again, who arranged for our one-day outbound trip. On the way back, I wandered around the Mengjinglai Transnational Village. I heard that this was the filming location for the third season of "Where Are We Going, Dad?" The first village in China and Myanmar lives up to its name and completely retains the customs of the Dai people.
